  1. He's dangerously close to becoming one of those people who say wankpuffin and cockwomble on Twitter
  2. Hold on. So just to get this straight, I post about Ten Haag, you quote me, call my point dumb, and the solution here is that I should have put you on my ignore list. I really don't think so like, I can obviously talk about Man United and Ten Haag if I want, and not that it matters but I’ve been on here coming up to 20 years. Who cares? If you quote me and outright call my point dumb, there's a good chance I'll bite, regardless of who’s saying it, and I’m pretty sure when you post something directly inflammatory like that, you either know that’ll be the case, or that was your intention. To my mind it's a perfectly reasonable analogy, the fact that you're calling it dumb without meeting it head on speaks volumes imo. Anyone can righteously complain about the mismanagement of Man United and be completely right about that – it’s not something that anyone on here is unfamiliar with - but Ten Haag wasn’t talking about that, he was talking about how Man United didn’t spend anything in January, the context being that Man United had spent £211m in the summer, more than every club except Chelsea. That, on its face, is a risible point to be making and defending imo. As I've said a few times on here, it's ironic that it's exactly the sort of arrogance and lack of self-awareness that stereotypical Man United fans specialise in that makes the automatic dislike towards the club and its fans a self-fulfilling prophecy. Obliviously and arrogantly thinking that everyone dislikes them because of things like jealousy, the club's stature, or a patronising presumption that others are ill-informed. Essentially the 'This is Manchester United' of it all amongst the fandom, which is, at least to my mind, the actual reason in itself for the dislike. As an aside, I know you’re a fan of bringing up who likes who or whatever from like 10+ years ago like. I know I’m not the only one you like mentioning this too either and while it’s incredibly juvenile and honestly, who cares? It’s also not really a stone I’d be throwing either tbh. As I said, I'd genuinely like to talk about Man United in exactly the same way we're all able to with fans of other clubs on the board. Somehow with you and Man United though it always ends up like this. It must just be a me problem, even when I'm not here.
  3. ASM, Willock, and even Gordon should have got more assists than they did. It's mad that we scored tons, finished 4th and yet were still very wasteful.
  4. Yes, it's truly a tragic tale of the haves (Man City) and have nots (Man United) Your attempts at justifying any of this are so pathetic man, not only do you not have an argument, but you're not even attempting to make one. Resorting to telling people who've had Mike Ashley owning their football club for 14 years to "do better" and calling them dumb isn't an argument, you probably know that, but as always you haven't got the slightest bit of humility or awareness of anything beyond being a Man United fan. Boohoo, you spent 211m in the summer and nothing in January. Our hearts bleed. Citing us signing Gordon, bringing our total for the summer and January to 43m less than yours in the summer is just a suicidal point to be making man, and you're calling me dumb and telling people to do better. Have you ever considered that it might be you that needs to do better? That maybe the issues at Man United aren't exclusively on your own intensely blinkered and biased terms and that other views aren't automatically wrong? Or that beyond all that, maybe we'd all like the chance to talk about Man United like we do with other clubs, without it turning into yet another conversation about you? It would actually be good to talk about it like we all do with Brummie, Neil, lfc, leffe and others, but because it's never far away from turning into this tired WUMery there's never any point.
  5. If I, the kid with every toy, get £211 for my birthday and spend it all at once, do I: 1) have a point when I mention how it's not fair that I didn't get any Christmas money and my friend, Oliver, got £123 for his birthday and £45 at Christmas? Or do I: 2) have no argument whatsoever and should have spent that money on maths lessons?
  6. Palace I remember when people were saying he'd have nothing to lose with his idiotic move to Chelsea and his stock would be just as high. ...Palace Great if you're only arsed about the money, but in career terms he's gone backwards if he really is going to Palace
  7. Also, in the one match 2 of our disappointing players played this season (Targett and Fraser Liverpool away) they were both really good. They had it in them.
  8. I liked him a lot at the end of last season. He was ahead of Murphy and had much more to offer. Look at their paths this season and I think you can make a pretty solid case for where Fraser could have got to and how much he could have contributed this season with the right attitude.
  9. Talks like someone trying to get through a middle school writing assignment as quickly as possible
  10. His performances I've seen at the end of this season have reminded me a lot of Gerrard in the Chelsea match after the slip. Just hell-for-leather trying to save the day on his own. And in doing so, completely ruining better chances to score and putting his team under pressure. A thin line between viewing that as him making it all about himself, trying to be a superhero, and taking responsibility/grabbing hold of the game. With Maddison the failure means it'll be viewed negatively, probably rightfully so regardless of any good intentions.
  11. Definitely. Can't believe Leicester especially didn't go for him or anyone.
  12. Not losing to any team that finished below 7th Fucking hell
  13. Yeah I think they both stay up with proper keepers.
  14. The goals, assists and unlocking defenses. I'm not saying to play him over Joelinton when our backs are against the wall and we're not dominating possession or anything. He's someone you play when you're dominating but can't find that key pass or shot. Watching him this season he looks like he thought he was the only player who could save them, which resulted in him keeping the ball much too long. I don't think there are any weaknesses in his game that couldn't be coached out of him tbh. The main worry I have about him is that according to Leicester fans he's a bit of a choker when it comes to crucial parts of the season.
  15. Think about our home matches against Bournemouth, Leeds, and Leicester. Now do you see how he fits our style of play? There'll be a lot more games like that next season.
  16. Lush goal but goal of the season my arse like. Miggy's is better
  17. In my experience even the most anti-American Americans will suddenly turn into Glenn Beck if someone else dares to criticise something that's American, often even when they agree
  18. I've gone for Longstaff's 2nd vs Southampton, it's just such a shame that nearly all of the replays of it miss out the full move. From 4:43 just as a reminder of how exquisitely well worked it is.
  19. Controversial maybe, but Schär's goal against Forest wasn't even the best goal in that match imo.
  20. Player of the Season: De Bruyne Most Improved Player of the Season: Odegaard Surprise package of the season: Bournemouth Most Disappointing Player: Sterling Signing of the Season: Haaland Most disappointing team of the season: Chelsea, aww what a shame Goal of the Season: Honestly can't remember Game of the Season: I can't really remember but Spurs vs Bournemouth 2-3 sticks in my mind Manager of the Season: De Zerbi Team of the Season: Allison, Walker, Stones, Saliba, Ake, Rodri, Odegaard, De Bruyne, Saka, Haaland, Kane
  21. Aye, you've basically listed all of the contenders there. Maybe Spurs away as well in terms of controlling the game. Southampton away was class as well. I kind of want to put Brighton in there as number 1 because the first half was tactically so spot on and it was so important, but the last half an hour was nerve-wracking. Maybe that one gets the number 1 tactical performance or something rather than best/domination
  22. It's definitely a contender. Our 2-0 vs Man United could have easily been 5 or 6 nil and I actually thought we played better in that (finishing aside) against a better team. There are loads of contenders though, what a season.
  23. Incidentally, what do you reckon our best performance of the season was? The game we dominated the most throughout.
  24. He was excellent last season imo. I noticed how good he was throughout the season. No idea whether it's been injuries or whatever this season, but the talent is there.
