Every time without fail. We've battered Chelsea, Man United, Spurs, Man City (despite it only being a draw), Brentford, and Villa at home. At some point you'd think that they'd realise it wasn't just that all of these teams were just having 'off days'

Near the start of this season, Loaded Mag had a really good preview show with a Liverpool fan who was talking about our progression and the targets that we can set for ourselves. One of the points that he made that's stuck with me since then is that we shouldn't measure anything in terms of the position we end up in and it's much better to think in terms of points totals. At one point he says something along the lines of 'maybe you can say to yourselves "can we get 60 points?" and then if you get it, you'll have done amazingly well and will be on track to getting to where you want to be. Next season can you get 72?' Cut to 7 months later and we're one point away from achieving 60 points with 7 matches to go. Dunno where abouts in the video it is that he says this, but this is the video. EDIT: From 16 minutes. He actually gets pretty close to predicting our season. Around 60 points and a really good cup run.

The Liverpool choices are odd, Robertson in particular. They weren't good at all.

I think we were on to a good thing with Primal Scream tbh, absolutely cannot stand that Hey Baby song, it's ear AIDS for Butlins and Benidorm nonces.

I've just been thinking about this. I definitely think there needs to be a separation between favourite player of the season as well as a best player of the season as well. e.g. I can't say Willock's been our best player this season, but he's definitely been my favourite.
-
I think it's only a matter of time now tbh. Southgate has his favourites and doesn't come to Newcastle enough, but I think with Jones, Ashcroft, Trippier, and Wilson here, Willock's brilliant form and the alternative's non-existent form, he'll be impossible to ignore.
-
@HollowayStill think he's overrated or underrated?
-
All things being equal, we should have lost at home to Bournemouth. Our pen decision for hand ball was a joke tbh.
-
F**k me, that's awful.

I've never seen anything like what Howe's done to our players. It really shouldn't be possible. He's turned players I thought were (being kind) Championship quality players and helped them to become invaluable cogs in a team surging its way into the Champion's League. If Leicester 15/16 hadn't happened, this would be the most remarkable turnaround I've ever seen at this level, it's staggering. Joelinton, Almiron, Murphy, Longstaff, Schar have gone from dead certs for the chopping block at some point, to in some cases being I-wouldn't-sell-for-anything players. Ridiculous. The nearest thing to it here is obviously Keegan, but by the player's and Keegan's own admission that was largely to do with his own ultra enthusiasm, the insane confidence he instilled into players, and the amazing style of football he had us playing. Not to mention that the players who came in were still absolute quality. But Howe has seemingly done all of that in the modern era where the top 6 is much more of a closed shop, while also coaching the players on everything to do with the whys and wheres of football, switching players positions and them still being brilliant, and made my prediction of 8th and feeling that was arrogant to a prediction that's turned out to be hugely conservative. He's fucking class, give him the keys to the city, I love him. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's not just that he's brilliant, it's that he's every inch a Newcastle manager. That's something that as much as I loved Rafa and would have really liked Emery, can't be said about them. In terms of football style, Howe is the spiritual successor to Keegan, without question.

The more I think about it, the more I think he might be our player of the season again you know? Yellow cards aside he's been more or less consistently brilliant and has added goals and assists to his game. Has to be between him, Schar, and Trippier for me.

I reckon most people didn't really celebrate the 5th goal but instead just burst into laughter. Watching it now still provokes the same reaction like. Imagine if we hadn't eased off at 5 nil as well.
-
6-1 against Spurs and we get fucking Jenas, Deeney and Beckford
-
I imagine he's had better Sundays
-
Would have sacrificed a couple of goals to have Jenas not presenting MOTD
-
Only a matter of time before he's in the England squad. If he adds goals, which we know he has in him, he's potentially a starter.
-
As Mike said in the match thread, have Spurs never watched Bruno? Sometimes marking him isn't enough anyway, but not doing it is proper suicide
-
It's not really though, as threads go it's been more or less hijacked. All part and parcel of being on a forum, but just saying. We've just won 6-1, everyone's happy. Coming in here and seeing yet more whingeing about the atmosphere from the same people is fucking boring, shite craic, sorry.
-
Okay, your choice like. Not sure what you're getting out of it though and you'll undoubtedly start annoying people in circumstances like this where everyone's on a high and you're being a doom cloud. Not just singling you out either.
-
It is but 94/95 had UEFA matches to consider and with those included we had 4 players (Cole, Beardsley, Lee, Fox)
-
I need that as a smiley for when I'm replying to KaKa. Sorry KaKa
-
You'd think a 6-1 battering would be a good excuse to have the week off like, howeh, let it go for a week
-
That celebration is already iconic like. Unreal
