'Fletch' commentating on Van Dijk like that commentator talking about Barbados Slim on Futurama ffs.
-
The Liverpool dick riding Olympics from both commentators is getting nauseating now like, fucking hell.
-
Haven't seen anyone say it was a foul, so not sure what you're on about tbh.
-
The only thing that really hit me was the Wor Flags video of Local Hero playing in an empty St James'.

It does make me wonder whether he has early onset dementia or he's been poisoned by microplastics or something like. He never seemed that crazy, which makes me worry it could happen to any of us.

My first match

What a turnaround it's been for him in the last 6 months. Fully deserved and great to see that it seems to have happened with very little fuss.
-
Unreal that that wasn't like 6-1 to Chelsea
-
I'd normally agree but I can barely believe where Man United are tbh
-
Spawniest club going. Unbelievable
-
Sorry that goal was late lads, the traffic was murder

Neville's not wrong, it's the blatant bias, stubbornness, and "This is Manchester United!"-ness that he's seemingly oblivious to that grates on people more than anything I think. He's not the only one either. Ex-Liverpool players were like that in the '90s and I remember wondering as a kid why so much time was being devoted to a club who never felt anywhere near challenging. Presumably kids are wondering the same thing about Man United now.
-
I remember scoffing at the idea of Herrera being a player Man United could win the title with. For it to now be Fred and the claim just being that he's underrated maybe tells its own story about the club's regression, I dunno.
-
Chelsea should be at least 2 or 3 up
-
When you actually watch Man United it seems almost miraculous that they're even in the conversation for the top 4. They're absolutely rubbish.
-
It's honestly obscene how often Gary Neville says "at this moment in time"

Definitely overthinking it imo West Ham are having a great season, Lyon aren't great but they're not pushovers and have talented players and that's all there is to it I think, far bigger upsets happen all the time. You're maybe just seeing it as part of a pattern you've already noticed rather than just something that happens. There's definitely an increasing concentration of wealth though like, which along with these daft attempts at growth like the ESL, strike me as signs of a potential bubble burst. Can't say I know anything about the Dutch league but it does seem like it's in the mud at the moment, that recent Ajax side aside.
-
These phases happen all the time like and like I say, Spain are still the dominant country even in recent years in both competitions, so you could maybe argue it's a counter-balance rather than an imbalance. West Ham have had a great season as well, beating Lyon was still a big deal because Lyon are no pushover and are stacked with good players: Paqueta, Dembele, and Denayer who we've been linked with and obviously Bruno before then too. I'm not saying don't worry like because I think the entire game's fucked and will try to infinitely grow to the point of bursting I just wouldn't worry about the specific thing you're worrying about, if that makes sense.
-
Why can't it be that those teams are good and played well? We're the richest club in the world and have been linked with/bought 4 of Lyon's players, they're not exactly lacking talent to the extent where West Ham have just blown them out of the water with their superior finances.
-
Eh? Have you not seen the Europa winners in recent years? Also completely dominated by Spanish teams. Maybe there's a bit of proximity bias going on with you seeing it as a problem, because English teams are suddenly dominating. I dunno, English football hooligans don't reflect my identity either, but I'll still support England.
-
It's been the richest league in the world for about 25 years hasn't it? Not like Real Madrid, Barca, PSG, Bayern Munich, and Juventus can't spend absolute tons, even then Liverpool have achieved all of their success while spending less than most as well.
-
Because I'm English. I know it's become the norm in recent years, but it's far less common than the phases of Spanish domination we've had.
-
Call me Farage, but I quite like English teams doing well in Europe tbh

Remember when Hayden went down holding his head and some people tried to claim play shouldn't have been stopped.
