  1. It would be great is some of the NO international brigade and the non-Tyneside Toon Army, met up in Newcastle, with some locals obvs. What a fabulous way to experience a cup final/significant day in the club’s history!
  2. Well maybe/hopefully, but the people who think they have a chance is a tiny proportion of the numbers who will want to watch.
  3. I know what you mean/had similar thoughts, but decided it isn’t an example of valuing one life over others, it is just that that particular person is known to us and remembered fondly by many.
  4. Timely shot across the bows for us really. Wouldn’t have been surprised to see somewhat inflated sponsorship deals by subsidiary, or otherwise interested, companies in the summer.
  5. I was planning on going in early. Getting food and pre-match ‘vocal lubrication’ drinks inside, is it really that expensive?
  6. Don’t know like, might be the final straw. Stories of bickering in the squad, lots of raised eyebrows and overt complaint about team selection (fine if you’re winning…), this might sound the death knell of his time there.
  7. Think they would have advertised by now. People will have made their plans.
  8. Posted at 8:588:58 Atsu found alive in Turkey Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu has been pulled from the rubble of a building in Hatay with injuries, his manager Mustafa Özat has told Turkish radio. The former Newcastle player, now with Turkish side Hatayspor, was trapped after the earthquakes that killed at least 2,000 people in Turkey and Syria on 6 February. Hatay was one of the cities closest to the epicentre of the quake, and has suffered extensive damage. The club's sporting director Taner Savut remains in the collapsed building, "Christian Atsu was removed from the wreckage with injuries," Özat told Turkish radio channel Radyo Gol. "Unfortunately, our sporting director Taner Savut is still under the rubble. Özat added: "Hatay was deeply affected. We are coming towards the end of the most dangerous hours." From BBC 08:58
  9. Might have good reason, especially if had difficult up-the-duffness ?‍♂️
  10. Well, let’s enjoy finding out. We’re hard to beat, the hardest to beat of them all it seems. We’ve not had a full squad to choose from all season, who knows maybe we will now and go on to steamroll a few over the next few games.
  11. Once signed, Botman proved faster, Bruno more athletic, and Gordon more handsome. It’s the black and white way!
  12. Wouldn’t be too gutted, hasn’t gone yet. Still fancy us to finish above Spurs and 50-50 with Man Utd. Both to play at home (and Brighton).
  13. Can’t wait to welcome little ‘Geordie Gondim Lira’ to the world!
  14. Pretty confident we’ll get a purple in the summer. Plus another couple of first teamers. We’ll see out the season fine as we are. We’re already in a final, no other cup distractions, a few formation permeations should it be necessary, could see us with Bruno, Joelinton, Longstaff, Willock, and Anderson for two slots. If necessary, which hopefully it won’t be.
  15. Really want to beat Liverpool, in particular; preferably convincingly.
  16. Just looked at Mitoma versus Trossard. 5 goals from 15 appearances versus 7 goals from 16 appearances this season (B&HA). Think they both have an assist. Tough player to replace, but seemingly they have it covered.
  17. Yep, might be off karma if Brighton pip us to fourth place, like we took the trophy off them (thanks due to Jack Grealish) on the last day of the Championship promotion season.
  18. Ah! Do you not get some kind of additional points boost for VC? (I know I should know by now ?)
  19. I think it’s just that you’ve already lost 5 and us one. Fact is though you’ve only failed to win 8, we’ve failed to win 11.
  20. Fernandes got 10pts yesterday and has a game to play.
