They beat Wolves 2-0 in their next match, then drew 0-0 away to Chelsea. -

Seems realistic. Though think Brentford will give you a hard game and often more difficult than it should be against teams fighting against relegation. -

There haven’t been any 65 point fourth place finishes in the last 10 years. 4th points total has been (going backwards): Spurs 71, Chelsea 67, Chelsea 66, Spurs 71, Liverpool 75, Liverpool 76, Man City 66, Man United 70, Arsenal 79, Arsenal 73. The average for 4th, over 29 PL seasons, is 68 points. 59 points at the end of April and, given the number of games per month, we’re on track for that. -

It did. -
I’ve seen enough in his game to suggest he will be a major player for us next season. Guess we’ll only be able to make a valid judgement when he gets a decent run in the team.

So many plaudits in the media about the atmosphere yesterday. Martin Keown raving on Talksport, Gary Neville in commentary (we are ‘ferocious’ apparently). Our own players raving about home support. Think we should accept that we are relatively speaking a good crowd, at worst, and also that the experience of it (as someone who sits where I can get a ticket) differs acoustically depending upon where you are. I’m proud of our fans (particularly away). I think we all should be.

Piece in the i newspaper at the weekend, saying there are three different lists of targets depending on where we finish. One for missing out on Europe, one for Europa league, one for Champions league. Not sure how the journo knows/what he was basing it on, but loved the comment that the latter list could see us going for the quality of players most had assumed we were 4 or 5 years away from.

Loved hearing Gary Neville acknowledging that the real Bruno (he may not have called him that…) was by far the best midfield player on the pitch. -

Did intervene/act as peacemaker towards the end to be fair. Could be faintly heard: “Eh, Eeric, chill man ze Eddie has the know-Howe we did think.” -

Does he normally have such a twitchy Meerkat like vibe? Or was he just a bit caught in the headlights after the ass-whipping? -

Anxious about not going ahead with such dominance, not based on anything I’ve seen, more Sod’s Law. That said, quick start to the second half and no reason to think they are going to take control. -

Willock and Longstaff doing some great things, but Jesus I wish they wouldn’t get such a rush of blood around goal. -

What about two against those full-time paella guzzling footballers from Spain? Does that change anything? (Apologies {insert names of multiple Spanish stars} fucking legends.)

Joselu, Merino and Scott Mc in a Newcastle past and future international… . Only one winner!

‘Some of you…’ are you not one of us? Perhaps if you take a second to read the bit in parentheses, before your fingers go walkabout, you’d have answered your own question.

I’ve taken against Thurman, on the basis of not very much at all, he looks decent but doesn’t look like the finished article to me. Getting him, even on a free, would I fear prevent us getting an absolute goal scoring beast—like Osimhen (most exciting young but ‘finished article’ striker out there). I appreciate he may be beyond us, but I’d prefer someone else, who looked a safer bet, even Ramos.
