  1. If that’s were we value him, that’s what we will pay. Not a bad message to get out there to the would be pickpockets.
  2. Proceed until apprehended is my approach!
  3. Thanks for correcting error; glad you like ?
  4. End of January update to ‘top-ten tracker’ created in June. Thought I’d put it here as well as original thread, as I’ve added 4th place averages. The original, charts where we would be most likely to pick-up points based on strength of opposition (last season’s finishing position) and home/away advantage. We’re 9pts ahead of that original target. I’ve assumed the re-arranged West Ham away will take place in March. Given the top ten hopes have become irrelevant (hallelujah!) I’ve added the average points totals for 4th place in the PL (68 pts based on a 38 game season), the maximum total for 4th (79pts, Arsenal 2013-14) and minimum (60pts, Liverpool 2003-4). We’re currently one point ahead of the average.

  6. ‘Twas an old forum joke. edit: ☝️ what he said.
  7. Makes sense for Lampard to be shuffled out now. Everton not likely to get anything from next two games anyway, so good time to get someone in who then has a bit of time to influence, before two more winnable games against Leeds and Villa.
  8. Starting to fear the worst. I believe we are trying, but with nothing showing up, Howe saying Shelvey going nowhere, no one else (bar Darlow) looking like leaving, and the clock ticking towards some sort of 11th hour scramble, it might well be one in (at best) and perhaps nowhere near their first choice.

    Anything similar available for Longstaff?
  10. Don’t forget to join the queue members (that is my selfless act for the day).
  11. We might need your help in the Schar thread SM. We’re crying out for a decent Swiss-themed song.
  12. I’ve gone from a brimming with confidence, firm belief, that we’ll definitely beat Southampton and fancying to beat either of the other two in the final, to angsting over how all three seeming massively improved and how we’re having a terribly-timed loss of form.
  13. I get your theory, we didn’t have enough winners/believe we could do it etc., but the facts of the matter are we would have won the league (all other things being the same) if we had beaten Man Utd at home; check the eventual points total. We didn’t deserve to win away, but we were definitely the better side at home. To my mind a more one sided game than the 5-0 the following season.
  14. He would be almost unplayable. Most good players tend to only be exceptional at dribbling or passing though. Tough ask hoping for a Ben Arfa-Nobby Solano (or Bruno Guimaraes) hybrid. Latter two are, I think, players I have most enjoyed watching pick out, and execute, awesome long and short passes.
  15. A worthy five shits post. Impressive ?
  16. That’s so lovely of Eddie and triggers a nice memory of my son playing (under 8’s) in front of Guardiola on his unveiling at City. Lost interest a bit in football but still has signed shirt/beaming smiley picture on his wall.
  17. Yep, massacred them 0-1, so we should be bemoaning Peter fucking Schemical (spelling will do) rather than our players.
  18. Hearing you there bruvver, wasn’t just your opinion at the time. Used to be ‘mass debating’ of this issue (…will the pain ever totally go?) from those who, well, masterbated about Batty—who, to be fair, rarely seemed to put a foot wrong— and those (myself included) who thought he was like a quagmire in midfield, the ball seemed to stick there, which slowed our attack down massively.
  19. For those of you old enough to remember ‘Heidi in the mountains’ on telly in late 1970’s (based on a famous Swiss fictional ‘goat herder’ character) who used to to say ‘Oopla grandfather!’ (Sounded like that anyway) how about a chant like: ? Harder than The Matterhorn More beautiful by far Oopla! Oopla! Fabian Schar ?
