Thought I should post this here as well as 7thometer. Quite astonishing the numbers EH has achieved thus far. Just looked detail at our record under Eddie Howe and his merry band. Two time periods. Since, first his official first game in charge, Norwich at home. Second, allowing him a six game period/month or so to have an influence, since January this year. First/Total: P38, W19, D10, L 9, Pts 67; F53, A43, GD10. Points per game (PPG) 1.76. 2022 only: P32, W18, D8, L6, Pts 62; F49, A30, GD 19. PPG 1.94. In the 30 EPL seasons to date, 1.94 PPG would have been enough for a 2nd place finish on 6 occasions; 3rd 16 times; 4th 26 times; and enough for 5th on 29 of the 30. If within one season, it would represent our second best return (2.05 ppg in 95-96 was our best; 2nd in 96-97 was less, 1.79ppg). The above is remarkable, outstanding, choose your word, at anytime. Taking into account where we were when he took over. The abject performances and record low points for us, there can never have been a greater transformation at this football club, nor many, if any, others.

There can be no doubt that we are, and have been for 32 games, on top four form. Almost nailed on for top six ‘if’ it continues. Big if, but much better to be able to say we just need to keep doing what we are going, this season and last, rather than aspiring to a level of performance we have yet to hit.

Done it on numerous occasions over the years. Generally absolutely fine. You’ll only be ejected if you create a disturbance. Best etiquette—quietly enjoy, clap everything good. (Not always easy to reign yourself in though!). -

Not sure how they can be our ‘rivals’. What are we competing with them for? Given Newcastle is the capital of the North East region it won’t be long before all proud North Easterners are cheering on their representative in the most competitive league in the world and no doubt, in the not too distant future, in European competition (again).

He can bin that fecking Spurs 10 bollocks! ?

Here’s the trajectory chart, constructed in the summer and updated as of end of October. This shows projected route towards a top eight finish, taking account of opposite quality (four tiers based on last season’s finishing position and whether games fall home or away) and using 56 points as a target. Unsurprisingly we are ahead of the curve (by three points). Anything we get in the two November games is a bonus.

Goaaaallll … his skinny legs that look as they are going to break ? he is so amazing that they might double his wages ???

Well said that man. Many others will have had the thought.

Two in January, three in the summer and we’d be solid for the extra games.

Couldn’t not vote Bruno—different class. But someone vote Callum W he deserves more love.
-
Has he shifted position in the last two games? Seems more forward and left with Willock more central. Doesn’t seem like best use of his strengths.

How did Steve Watson go to school in Felling when he was from Wallsend?

Listened to it 25 times. Not obsessed, just trying to write down the lyrics ?

Very different player, but reminds me of Beardsley. Everybody kind of knows what he’s going to do but nobody can stop it.

?♂️ But I feel like I’m on acid!
-
Hope so. Not sure he did enough to change minds (a mind).

Bookmark that fucker!

Well I, for one, thought we suited that third place position. Encore

That’ll teach me to moderate my initial 4-0 to a (slightly) more conservative 3-0! -

For what it’s worth, I think when it comes to mixing football and politics, it is usually right to keep your own counsel. That said, I do think there is only one likely direction of change when insular societies embrace the broader picture of how things are elsewhere in the world. We are not going to see the values and other beliefs of young Newcastle fans veering towards those prevalent in KSA, at least those which jar with modern Britain. We just might see the values and other beliefs of young Saudis shift, at least in those who become obsessed with the closest thing to ‘their’ Premier League team. Keep displaying Pride with pride, keep behaving in a way compatible with our other values, don’t be name-calling disrespectful haters, and who knows how the youth of KSA may be influenced in future.
