  1. In other news, it is July 2022. We’ve got the wherewithal to attract Paqueta and other options of that calibre, we can’t make people join us and it wouldn’t be sensible to try and ‘buy willingness’. Sounds like we’ve got a shot; if he doesn’t want to come, then next. But at present he might well want to. I’m just cautiously imagining that rather than dwelling on an imaginary catastrophic collapse of dominoes.
  2. ☝️ this really deserves more love. 17 letter poetry.
  3. Odd what tickles you sometimes. The repeated hundreds of people/kids had me in stitches. He should have had the comparison with Maiden Castle days, AP estimates would have been ‘millions’ no doubt!
  4. Well if we really push for him, then it is a good sign given how well Howe and Tindall know his game and character.
  5. Danjuma from Mail: “Newcastle, Manchester United and Liverpool were among the clubs interested in Danjuma with West Ham leading the chase, but they have all now been set back with the Dutchman opting to stay in Spain.”
  6. Is scouse a protected characteristic in USA? (RIP John Lennon)
  7. For fuck’s sake… . (we have to have him now ?)

  9. Nice! I was tempted by Gordon, but not so much if we don’t sign him.
  10. Would love to know how he looked in training; what the other players think of of him (you just know don’t you when you’ve picked up a good un) and what the coaching staff are seeing.
  11. I was desperate to get Salah and Son in midfield. Found a way!
  12. We’ve apparently made a £34m bid for Paqueta. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1637373/Arsenal-transfer-news-pushing-hard-Lucas-Paqueta-Lyon-Newcastle-offer
  13. Story out that neither Wood nor Manquillo have reported back yet? Anything in it?
  14. He’ll be well looked after in PSG’s u21s.
  15. If we’re getting all evolutionary, then Africa is just a label some colonial made up, and the myriad of (blood soaked)similarly invented lines which criss cross that particular expanse of land. ? shall we just talk about signing people? Or go broader? Truncally erect bipedal hominids? Fast ones obvs ?‍♂️
  16. Just read that this guy was 15 when he made his first team debut! We’ve had an initial offer of £17m ‘turned down flat by Santos’.
  17. Kevin Gallacher? Not a profilic record (4 goals) but I remember liking him. Big Dunc only got twice as many, similar number of games but it was great having him in the team.
  18. Not pretending anything, or denying the categorical race based comparisons which some people make, just saying that is not what I personally think was the case on this occasion. It is also. It what the original poster say they meant. I also think that jumping to that conclusion when there’s a perfectly understandable and arguably more obvious alternative verges on the offensive.
  19. Man City scored 99… oh it was Man Utd who scored 57.
  20. Have to say I didn’t read it like that at all. Thought the comparison of players nailed what I was thinking. And I am pretty sure it didn’t involve any casual racism. Just like a Kante is like (a better) Batty would have also been a good comparison.
  21. Use of Mackem (totally tabloid related) rather than Makem (Mak’ ‘em, tak’ ‘em).
