From what I’ve read, Gallagher was as much a pest as Bellamy, but stronger and a better natural finisher. Don’t know if he was as quick but as I couldn’t envisage Shearer and Milburn in the same side, and the Cole-Beardsley link-up seemed hard to ignore, thought I’d give Wee Hughie the nod.

Gutted for him to miss out on a call-up. I know there is competition but perhaps the stuff he does really well just doesn’t stand out as much as the more obvious game changing moments which might draw attention from distant coaches/decision makers.

Yep, just a bad call. Would have been more likely to have a collective show of respect if the games had went ahead. Increased the likelihood of people taking an opportunity to express dissatisfaction by postponing/disrupting hundreds of thousands of people’s plans and opportunities for pleasure/leisure. Love Tripps. His football nous, calmness on the ball, support for teammates, his leadership. We’ve started to see some of the things/gaffs @leffe186mentioned re his time at Spurs. But no player is perfect and he still stands as the best fullback I can recall playing for us.
