Thank you for the ride on your coat tails. 48 points for Haaland. Makes me feel better about the 24 points sitting on my bench with one sub yet to play! Maybe bench boost was the chip for me to play this week. -
Well youāre a good man ForFuckāsSake with a really appropriate name!

Me too. You might counteract my usual curse. -
His idiocy isnāt even consistent. Just checked and heās predicted a draw.

What would he do that? Would scupper his ācreative flowā. I think his every post is imagined pillow talk to his old turnip faced fantasy fuck.

Good shout. Big lump of a man with lovely touch, silky dribbling and generally far more skilful than he looked like he would be.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed
Coffee_Johnny replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Perhaps Ramsdaleās presence is helping keep him on his toes. -
Ok well, when you said: ā The squad is setup for the strike to bag goals imo.ā I took that to mean that you think our set-up is overly reliant on a striker to do our scoring. You also said āWe donāt have the team for spreading the goals around imo. ā Which I took to mean not only do you think we are set-up (tactically) to be overly reliant on a striker, but that as āOnly Gordon/Barnes has a track record of scoring goals consistentlyā¦ā we donāt have players who can chip in with goals, e.g. āElanga nope. Murphy nope.ā If I have misinterpreted your meaning then maybe it wasnāt obvious from what you wrote/how you expressed it. I simply pointed out that only around a third of our goals in the last two seasons have come from strikers. And there are others, like Murphy with 8 PL goals last year for instance, who show we do āspread the goals aroundā. Also, Elanga scored 6 for Forest last season. Which I think is a reasonable minimal guess for how many he may contribute this season. Heās not had that many minutes and already scored in a friendly (vs Arsenal).
-
Well, get what youāre saying but not sure I agree with you. It is hardly as if we are banging it forward for a striker to chase or crossing ad naseum for the big man to nod it in. Over half our goals have come from midfield and a decent wedge from defenders (less last season to be fair) so the recent facts also donāt seem to support any āwe are set-up in a way which overly relies on our striker(s) to score the majorityā theory.

Iām a huge fan of Gordon, one the minority to be delighted when we signed the satorially-challenged Scouse-scamp. But howay, he was far from doing āeverything rightā. He made a number of wrong choices and missed shit loads of chances. Not saying he was shit. He was full of effort and gave the League One maestros a right headache. Heās not back to his best yet though. Beginning to believe heās a bit like a younger Raheem Sterling (bear with meā¦) with his finishing. Fine when he doesnāt have time to think or gets it out of his feet and shoots in one movement. But give him time to think (overthink?) and he is likely to Mick Martin the fuck out of the ball (nod to the classic and regular āHeās pulled the neck off that oneā commentary, rather than Martinās own, at times, exquisite striking of the ball).

League goal scorers last season: Voldemart 23 Barnes 9 Murphy 8 Gordon 6 Bruno 5 Tonali 4 Joelinton 4 Schar 4 Another three on one a piece. 2023-24 Voldemart 21 Gordon 11 Wilson 9 Bruno 7 Longstaff 6 Barnes 5 Schar 4 Miggy 3 Murphy 3 Joelinton 2 Burn 2 Botman 2 Another eight on one goal. Thereās a bit of spreading it around. 37 goals from midfielders last season (of 66). 40 the year before. Obviously more so if cups included.

Chuffed for the lad. That first goal was right out of the top strikerās play book. -

Schar and Burn will play (both in the stands last night). Most likely with Tripps and Tino. Bruno and Tonali nailed on. Puzzler re Big Joe though. Does not look fully fit but maybe they think he is fine to play again given it is a Sunday game (two 90s in five days seems a luxurious rest at the moment). Suspect weāll see Murphy (if fit), Woltemade and I suspect Barnes; though would rather see Gordon start. -
Nice stats! Never seen that site before.

Brunoās I hope (or the one he wanted if not that). What a night for the lad. Absolute stuff of dreams goal (might have preferred Gallowgate end, but at least facing his fans) coupled with sad realisation of difference (if he wasnāt already aware) between where and how he plys his trade and what you need to regularly set foot on his dream stage.
