  1. Yep. Notice Pereira is in there. He’s a bit long in the tooth for our strategy (28) but perhaps we should sweep for him and have a full Brazillian midfield!
  2. Neymar out through injury as well. Casemiro, Jesus, Richarlison and Anthony also left out. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cekl7r9pvryo.amp
  3. I like that they’re out and about. Though dawns on me they might have just been between car and restaurant.
  4. Looks like they’re having a pint in a Sainsbury’s ?‍♂️
  5. ‘Records’ (ahem…) are there for breaking. All runs come to an end. Today’s the day, man. Today’s the day… . (Off in search of Tippex).
  6. Currently writing your name in my book and crossing it out.

  8. Thanks for the message and informed view re injuries. In terms of NUFC being a temporary staging post towards a really big club, suspect the majority opinion here will differ from yours.
  9. I struggle to spot the subtle differences between between top class/PL goalkeepers (…well players in general often!) but Ramsdale has represented England at all levels and is still on that upwards curve competence wise. At the right price I’d love to see him here. It gives the right message and, like Gordon, we could be getting a future England regular while we can afford him.
  10. It’s admirable that you befriend the hard of thinking.
  11. Mental isn’t it. Have an agent to protect your interests (aka screw every penny possible out of your employer and use your profile to wring money out of every possible company) and the club have to pay. They also don’t pay their own union fees ?‍♂️
  12. We’ve had ‘four in a row’ top six finishes once: 1993-94 (3rd), 1994-95 (6th), 1995-96 (2nd), 1997-98 (2nd). Three in a row once: 2001-02 (4th), 2002-03 (3rd), and 2003-04 (5th). Would be fantastic for 2023-24 to be the second of a record breaking run. For comparison: Man City will have 11 in a row this season. Man Utd will hopefully not add to their current six in a row (30/31 top six finishes thus far). Arsenal will have three in a row (28/32). Liverpool will have eight in a row (26/32).
  13. One of Rob’s legs same weight as both of Bruno’s. But otherwise, like they were separated at birth ?
  14. Finishing sixth this season would be outstanding. Target next season is European qualification and a trophy. Variety of each dependent on our transfer investment.
  15. And two teams from our group in t’other semi. Including one we thrashed. Bizarro indeed. I’m
  16. I think, from what I can gather, that Howe fancies both of them. Can’t see us letting Isak go if he wants or can be persuaded to stay.
  17. A canny bit, tbf ? from me!
  18. Gameweek 37 Fulham 0-3 Man City Bournemouth 1-1 Brentford Everton 2-0 Sheff United Newcastle 3-1 Brighton Spurs 4-0 Burnley West Ham 2-3 Luton Wolves 1-2 Palace Forest 2-2 Chelsea Man United 1-2 Arsenal Villa 1-3 Liverpool Spurs 2-2 Man City Brighton 1-1 Chelsea Man United 1-3 Newcastle
  19. Middlesbrough clearly in the North-East silver medal position over the last 32 seasons, in terms of average league position. NUFC's average finish is 11th (appreciate our season's not over, but doesn't really make a difference), MFC's average finish is 21st and SAFC pick-up bronze, in a three horse race, with 25th.
  20. Thanks, goals scored correct. Missed a season a couple of cells on goals against. Will correct.
  21. Isn’t it. His points per game (ppg) for the 27 games in 2021-22 is 1.63. Seems harsh to include the first few but guess they count/will be on him. We’ll need another six points this season to match that. Currently 1.51ppg. Even more incredible his ppg for the 19 games Jan to May 2021-22, with a relegation threatened side, plus a few January additions, was 2.0 ppg. For comparison Villa are comfortably in 4th, this year, with 1.86ppg and we had 1.87ppg to finish fourth last season.
  22. Here's a corrected Eddie Howe record--with the two games (20th and 27th) prior to Norwich City at home on 30th November 2021--in comparison to other managers (who have at least a full season's worth of PL games).
  23. Thanks I vaguely recalled it was COVID related. Think I read an interview with him/someone where it said Norwich was the first time he was properly in charge (team selection, tactics etc) guessed the other two he relied on Gateshead Graeme; who was only officially interim manager for the previous three games. Do you think the ‘official’ records will include Brentford and Arsenal?
  24. I’ve always used/considered Norwich City at home as his first official game in charge (30.11.21) as, although he was appointed on 8th November, he wasn’t actually in charge of the team until then. Looks like the two prior games (Brentford at H on 20th, and Arsenal A on 27th) have been used to tot up to 100. I’m now deeply statistically troubled ?
  25. Why not? He’s a Manchester/Northern lad.
