He was just what they needed. Without knowing the reasons, seemed a crazy decision and proving to be one.

Were they ‘set penises?’ @Kid Icarus -
Joking aside, I’m confident that an ‘on it’ Tonali would have made a positive difference. Maybe progressing in the Champions League, 4 or 5 points in the league, and perhaps another domestic cup final (or two).

I think you’re right. He is saying thank you, showing reciprocal respect, for the touching Brazillian flag display.

They’ve been really tough to beat recently. We don’t need to win this one. I’d take a draw as long as we beat Man Utd. -
Must be compensated by the signing of elite players from elite clubs. Maybe Jesus’s four goals have helped mask the disastrous impact of such a schoolboy transfer strategy.

Homesick for where? Was he not born in Surrey?

Really relieved that common sense has prevailed. Would have been insane to heap further misery upon him. Might not have to ceremonially burn my framed Tonali and Bruno goal celebration picture now!

Hindsight is selective too. For example, he played really well in the last sixteen games of 2021-22. We took 31 points from those games, only really getting tonked off Spurs and City away. We looked dead and buried before then; 11 points from 19 games at the turn of the year. Obviously not just Targett making the difference, but for the difference he made in that period alone, I think he was a good signing.

I’m sure it was messy piss. (one glass for each letter of the lad’s full name…)

Oh dear… . Makes the tattoo I got on the day before my 16th birthday at Totty’s on Camperdown Street, look dec… well not decent but not as bad. Repent at your leisure young Lew.

To be fair @Jack27 has a good record!

Played in the same boys team as Rashford, if I recall correctly. Fletcher Moss based in West Didsbury Manchester.

I was reading somewhere (can’t find it) about this being our highest scoring season. It is going to be. We are on 74 already (2.18 goals per game; GD 19). Converting all PL seasons to 38 games (was 42 in our first two seasons) means that best we have done previously is 1993-94, 1.95 gpg, so 74 overall (82 actually), GD 41; 2001-02, 74 scored GD 22; 2022-23 scored 68, 1.79 gpg, GD 35; 2002-03 scored 63, 1.66gpg, GD 15; 1999-00 scored 63, GD 9. So Eddie’s free scoring Mags will have two of the five highest scoring seasons in his first two full seasons.

Another one of, perhaps the King of, the beautiful black and white ‘County Durham traitors’.
