Newcastle United vs. Liverpool: 25/08/25 @ 20:00 (Sky Sports)

I’m in a lovely spot too (Krakow old town). Starting to feel nervous. Seen two groups with LFC shirts, locals I think. Found myself having to hold back a growl 😂 (not usually like this). -
Looks a bit like Morten Harket if he’s scored as many times, Eddie’s in!
-
🎵…it is for real! He might well be Newcastle’s no.9, if we can sign someone, anytime… Nicolas fkin Jackson (man), it is for real! 🎵
-
Had a Spurs win (admittedly a way off 3-2) but changed it when I followed heart over head and changed to a win for us. Hope one change balances the other!

Some ambition in terms of signings, but you were relatively low scoring last year and doesn’t look like you have signed anyone who will help correct that.

Can’t we rely on a big sale next summer?
-
If Osula is really being prepared for a loan or sale then, I reckon the plan is: Francesco Pio Esposito (Development prospect who can/will actually start games). Yoane Wissa or Alexander Sørloth (Starting striker, at least for first few games post signing). Alexander Isak (will have to earn his place back, and earn trust, with training performance). At this stage, I just can’t see Wolves letting Strand Larsen go.

Certainly does not hurt, but Thiago played up front. Replaced by Rico Henry (LB…) on 84 mins.

Enjoying my Spurs defence this week. Wan Bissaka not so much. -
Sounds like a riveting ‘Premier League’ game thus far. One shot on target each. Dubravka saving theirs, Burnley’s going in.

Will Osula: Goal vs Man United nominated for PL Goal of the Season

If we’re even contemplating letting Osula go (on loan presumably) then it must mean we intend to get two in and keep Isak. -
Good sign, me thinks. Plus they’re actually winning (against the odds and run of play though).

The whole (quite small) area was called Bird’s Nest; presumably where pub got its name. Think there’s still a Bird’s Nest road and on opposite side (Felling Shore) a Nest Road, near Friar’s Goose Marina, where my Dad and uncle had a boat for years.

Yep. Doubt that anything will be happening over this weekend. Maybe Wednesday or Thursday for announcement(s)? 🤞

Fancied Chelsea to score a few and was wavering Palmer and Pedro for captain. Chose Palmer and stupidity vice captained someone else 🤷♂️ -
Just had a quick deek online. Looks nice and I like that they give the public the option to name it. Didn’t realise there was such a long history of keels (and keel man) on the wear as well as the Tyne. A couple of generations of my ancestors were watermen/keel man from Bird’s Nest Walker and further along in Byker, at Dent’s Hole (great old place names!). Such a lot of similarities between the cities, particularly in their industrial origin. Shame that all that gets glossed over by petty perceived differences. Always thought of keels as solely going downriver (and back obvs) transporting coal and stone etc from shallow water to ships sitting in deeper water so wonder why Keel Crossing was chosen? (Presumably there was a ‘water taxi/ferry’ back in the day like between North and South Shields now and the many earlier ones pre Tyne Tunnel 🤷♂️ https://sites.google.com/site/fatfieldsite/the-keelmen

He’s so competitive isn’t he. Bet he was a nightmare to play board games with as a kid.

Alex (just in case you are lurking…) you haven’t said anything unforgivable. Every fan can understand a desire to play at the highest level possible. If we had any near your level of talent and potential we would want the same too. Thing is we have taken you so much to our hearts, revelled in having such a world class striker in our team, shared so much of the striving and the success, such effort and craft has brought, with you and your team mates that understandably many have have felt betrayed and rejected by your assertive approach to ensuring a move. Hence all the c-word ranting; hurt comes out as anger as I am sure you know. It won’t last. All you have to do is do what you do best. Return to the fold. Be the prodigal son. You will have not only our appreciation but, for many, our ongoing support and unconditional love forever. Ask Tino. Ask Les. Ask Alan. Even if you lose out on finances and maybe trophies this season you will be able to move next summer if you still want to. Leave with your head held high. Able, for the rest of your life, not just the relatively short period in the full glare of the floodlights, to look yourself in the mirror and know that you did not sully this wonderful chapter of your career. That you stayed. Played your best football in an improved team (achieved who knows what…) and did not leave your teammates, your friends, your ardent fans, in a compromised situation. You know Eddie and co. would have helped you to leave if we had been able to buy a suitable replacement (must confuse you why Liverpool snapped up Ekitike before securing you, knowing it risked NUFC digging in their heels). There is no trust broken where it matters. Between the people in the dressing room, the family and brothers in arms you have grown with, in your time here. make the choice that is right for you, Alex. Bara du har makten att rätta till saker och ting. Recall the wisdom of your heritage, whilst Liverpool may seem like the glittering prize for this year: Melkena aberena. Be with your friends and colleagues, stay with the family (Kab beynika Giat mis hizbka miat).
