  1. Howe’s been brilliant for a season and a half and average this season I would say if trying to put this in context. He ran out of ideas at Bournemouth and defending was genuinely regarded as his weak spot. Last season the stats showed we were fucking brilliant defensively, but most will have noticed towards the end of season we started to look a little bit vulnerable at the back especially to pace. I genuinely don’t know which way this goes for Howe, I certainly don’t see us winning the FA Cup on current form and strongly suspect this current form continuing into next season will see him gone after 10 games. Without a DOF i seriously worry about this summers transfer strategy, which if we get wrong could have massive ramifications going forward.
  2. Midfield is weak as piss which doesn’t help, but have to admit there’s worrying signs and looks very Bournemouth at the minute.
  3. Singing along to a local bands song as well, instead of the generic shite we have to suffer. Back to the point though and you’re right to get any atmosphere back we need more groups of younger lads, not families and tourists, but fucking match going lads who go to the pub have a few pints then get behind the lads. It’s killing our fanbase and worry the likes of Silverstone will kill our support for good. SJP used to be one of the most feared radged up places to come on its day, we can barely muster a murmur for the big games these days it’s embarrassing.
  4. Eales and Silverstone shouldn’t be given such an easy ride going forward if they’re just burying their heads over this.
  5. Think I said a while back that there were clear signs the recruitment team weren’t working in tandem, think I might have been accused of having an agenda as well. No hard feelings though ?
  6. Think Ashworth might regret putting his faith in Jim, on the other hand he might be quite happy being paid to do fuck all for 20 months.
  7. Looks like Dan could have made a misstep here, doesn’t sound like this is getting resolved anytime soon and clearly the mancs haven’t got 20 million to free him. The fact he was clearly tapped up before the formal approach won’t be mentioned by the nationals, Dans claims to have been irritated by the speculation looking a bit hollow the little rodent.
  8. Not sure why anyone would want the Reubens to fuck off, big investors in the City and loaning Staveley money to keep her part of it, some folk can be very short sighted especially when Yasir mentioned them as a key reason they chose to invest in first place.
  9. Impeccable source and suggests more change if true.
  10. I think to be honest this is why Man U will attempt to call our bluff with gardening leave, we won’t want to be paying that for long whilst he’s doing nowt, regardless of how much we all want the club to shaft the manc cunts.
  11. With Ashworth being the highest paid Director of football in the PL on 1.5 million, I don’t think we’ll be short of candidates to replace him. Putting aside all the hyperbole around him, I think he’s going to be a big loss in the short term, not sure how many Directors of football have the all round skill set he seemed to bring, which is why the mancs clearly want him.
  12. Howe was quoted as saying that the biggest credit he would give Ashworth was that he didn’t use his power when he came in to change the transfer approach. He alluded to the fact that nothing had fundamentally changed since the first January window.
  13. Surely he’s the man who has been appointing all these analysts and scouts ? I certainly don’t think everything is a well oiled machine at the club currently, but by his own description he’s the man that puts everything in place, would be interesting to know why he’s been unhappy with the set up currently, not that we’ll ever find out.
  14. Could look rather foolish if Man U baulk at this and appoint someone else, I’m presuming they know about the release clause, or more likely the arrogant cunts think we’ll roll over as per.
  15. Can see Man U standing firm until the summer then relenting and paying it. Telegraph Sport understands that Newcastle will now insist on a compensation fee of more than £20 million if Manchester United want him to start work before the stipulated length of his gardening leave, as Ashworth’s contractually agreed period in which he is unable to work for another top Premier League club is twice as long as initially thought. That sum to release him from his contract is almost unheard of but Newcastle have always maintained they were “very well protected” as soon as Manchester United’s interest was known in the 52-year-old.
  16. I gave up after Dortmund and don’t miss it one bit, the match day experience has gone for me and unless the club do something to help the atmosphere I won’t be back.
  17. Key summer for Howe but even the top managers are only as good as their recruitment, needs to be backed to bring in 4 first team players and most importantly needs to nail it this summer and actually improve the starting 11.
  18. Where in the FA cup 5th round why anyone would want this season to end is beyond me, if we get knocked out that’s another matter, but years gone by cup fever would be gripping Tyneside now and that’s with us having far worse teams than we have now.
  19. Sad to hear fanbase has changed no doubt about it, undoubtedly an awkward situation and not helped by ballot.
  20. Did you explain it’s the standing section and politely tell them to fuck off ?
  21. They look a handful up top with Tavernier, Semenyo and Solanke, hopefully lessons learned from Luton and Forrest at home.
  22. Don’t think the current version of Callum Wilson is particularly a miss, looks laboured and struggles to hold the ball up recently. We might miss having a focal point especially at home, but a front 3 of Barnes, Gordon and Almiron could be electric if they click.
  23. If we are staying at SJP I want to see it completely transformed like the Bernabau has been. Think just extending the Gallowgate would be a short term fix at huge cost, I’m hoping they’ve got something up their sleeve that blows everyone’s mind and makes SJP one of the best stadiums around.
