The centre-back is on the market for circa €30m in the January transfer window and will turn 22 later this month. He was picked up from Ajax for €8m in 2020, but has already tripled his transfer value in 18 months. According to Sportitalia transfer pundit Rudy Galetti, there is another meeting planned between Milan and the Lille directors to discuss Botman’s situation. He remains the first choice for Rossoneri legend and current chief Paolo Maldini, who knows a strong defender when he sees one. Did a bit of YouTube scouting of Lucas Paqueta when we we’re linked with him. I’m presuming this guy plays in the Lyon midfield with him ? Would have loved Paqueta seem’s very highly rated.

Think nearly everyone to a man would have taken being 6 point’s from safety going into the transfer window at start of December. The fact is it’s not even that bad, what a fucking opportunity to pull this off now. It’s in our own hands, get the transfer window right and we stay up simple as that.

Yeah just get the balance right between standing and seating. What an excellent opportunity to get like minded people together who want to create an atmosphere. The fact they didn’t put half season tickets on sale gives us scope to move people and accommodate everyone’s preferences. I personally don’t think this version of standing will be anything like the 70’s or 80’s and will be far more civilised. There’s no increase in capacity, so it won’t resemble anything like the swaying masses of years gone by. The police have already said they’re concerned about groups of lads gathering together, well fucking sorry like but as long as they’re just creating an atmosphere there should be no problem with that.

My 6 signings going off all the rumours I’ve read so far would be - Trippier Botman Rodon (loan) Kamara Fofana Cabral or Jovic (loan) I can’t recall seeing a decent LB linked but if one’s available I’d possibly swap Fofana for one. On the striker front I’d be happy with a loan if it meant we go all out for a Vlahovic / Isak type signing in the summer. Big no to a Ramsey or Dembele type signing from me (though I do type that with a wry smile, as it would have been laughable to suggest them a few months ago).

Good to read having not seen much of him. I’ve read that he’s a left sided CH, but Ajax let him go because they had other defenders who were better on the ball. Obviously seems highly rated now, hopefully he becomes our Vincent Kompany signing and is here for years to come.

I think their coping mechanisms at the minute consist of reinventing themselves as defenders of human rights and consoling themselves that the rest of the county hates us. This is clearly a massive head fuck for them and great to watch.
