Wasn’t there some rumour that he owed Ashley cash from gambling, or vice versa, or something? I remember people being aghast when he was appointed. The anger then was worse than Keegan going in my memory. My biggest fear with Ashley was that it was going to eventually get to the point he didn’t even hire a football coach, just a business manager. Like some bloke from Sports Direct in to manage the team.

I don't think we did score that many late winners did we? Off the top of my head the only last minute goal I can remember was the equaliser against Sunderland. History has been curiously rewritten here about 2011/12. If detractors from other clubs had been saying it at the time they would have been hammered by our lot and rightly so. It was a very good season.

There was this brief time when fans of other clubs- including some of our own (I remember fanzine articles and posts on Skunkers)- lauded their away support. Then the team became shit and their fans have been as quiet as any other set for years. Funny that.

But the period seven ballot winner didn't! Let's just leave this, mate. I don't blame anybody for trying to get a ticket whatever their circumstances, and I'm happy for those that did. As I say, I have learnt my lesson about buying cup tickets in the future.

So, a member that went to those games get the ticket that the season ticket holder does? Okay, I don't agree with it, but it's workable. The scenario is described is unfair though.

It's unfair because a member who attended one league cup game could have got a ticket ahead of a season ticket holder who went to two. It's happened, I won't make the same mistake again when buying tickets during a cup run and I hope everybody has a cracking day, but it is objectively unfair. I'll shut up up about it now

How many non-season ticket holders got tickets for the finals in the 90s?

Well, I don’t know what happened there? If they paid for a season ticket in 2020/21 or 2021/22, then yes I include them

Not when some of the tickets went to non-season ticket holders who also didn’t bother with majority of cup games. It’s not complicated. It’s unfair.

In cup finals? Never, ever heard this before.

I don't understand the constant use of this line. Of course somebody will lose out. The point is that, in this case, a section of those that have lost out have done so unnecessarily and unfairly. It's not 'whatever happens', it's 'whatever did happen in this specific case'.
