Anyone wanting instant success needs to slow down. Eddie doesn't just bring his magician ways in making forgotten players like Schar, Joelinton and to an extent Almiron perform way above their station but he brings a stability, a class and a willingness to improve. Don't let us be like Chelsea. He obviously has what it takes but we've lost 300 mins/or was it days?? more than anyone else due to injuries. I believe he's our fergie. I don't want anyone else. I want him to make mistakes, learn from them, improve. How all humans should operate and be treated. You're not made into a world class manager over night. It takes dedication and failure. And don't mention Pep because every team he's had everything at his disposal. Yes world class but Eddie has taken a bunch of championship and mid table prem players and with a few sprinklings of quality, got us top 4. We should not be so short sighted.

I admire Froggy's admiration to defend Ratcliffe to the death but honestly, if we had done this I'd be embarrassed. I was certainly miffed and had an uncomfortable egg on my face feeling when Ashworth said he was leaving us to join Manchester.... now? I'm rather enjoying the whole situation and feel like we have wiped the egg off our face and thrown it straight back at them. Splat!

That is horrendous

It's worth noting that even though we might be 9 points worse off than last season at the same time, so are other teams in terms of position. The league leaders last year were 5 points better off with a much narrower gap between 1st and 7th. This means that all the top teams are taking points off each other regardless of where anyone is. It all means that if it continues like this we won't need as many points as we did last year to make top 6. So there's hope!! Be a hopeful idiot like Froggy!

I'd be happy with Phillips to be honest, just because you didn't make it at Man City doesn't mean you're not a top player. He looked great at Leeds and fantastic for England. My only worry is that he won't be fit for months with how we play..however he did play in a Bielsa team so perhaps his understanding of Howe's game would be easier. I love a redemption arc.

Yeah but if he doesn't trust him defensively which is what we needed at the chelsea game then that's quite a key match to throw him onto. Perhaps would be a bit different if we were 1-0 down and needed a goal?
