At least we know what the price is so we don’t have to mess around with it. Although, I’m not sure he’d work as one of our midfield 3
-
Same here. I just want a situation where we can legitimately and fairly compete for the same players and not get significantly outbid each time
-
£30m to me seems like a fair deal all round
-
I agree with the sentiment, but we’ve sold one player to a club over there and it wasn’t an astronomical fee by any stretch. I just can’t see us going down that road as everyone else will cry foul. I mean we’ve got so many players that we need to move on and this is a clear opportunity to do that but we won’t do that it seems

How do you really know that Eddie is being inflexible? I really don’t understand this constant view that Eddie only wants to buy a select few players and nobody else. He wants players that will improve us, are talented, willing to learn and open to his style of coaching. That makes the pool smaller, but we don’t know how long that list is

There’s so much speculation out there about how we go about the transfer window, it’s just odd. How do you really know what speed we’re working at behind the scenes? I get the disappointment that we’ve got one player in, but come on, transfers aren’t just done in an instant. We have specific targets and we’re trying to make it happen. It’s a negotiation that takes time and as we’ve seen before it can involve leaving the process if need be and then coming back at a later stage. Gone are the days where having rich owners means you just offer whatever it takes, we live in a different world now

We will just win it this season instead then

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

I always thought the guy was full of shit, but I think he did break the Kane / Bayern transfer -

Really see this one happening now…. Looks like he’s the perfect player for us to move to a double pivot with Bruno and Tonali: Bruno Tonali Elanga Ekitike Gordon Isak We’ll still need Joelinton, Barnes and Murphy in the squad as key players that’s for sure -
Could totally see that happening. Sell a couple of players to some Saudi clubs and just have a quiet few windows following this splurge

I still can’t understand how Delap decided to move to Chelsea ahead of us. But if it means we get Hugo then happy days! -

I can’t see us being a realistic option for him even if we sell that he’s the long term Isak replacement. He wants to play football and he will be second choice -
I don’t think so as we’ve got a good relationship with Man City overall. We support their motions at every PL meeting with a vote and them for us too. We’re in the same boat, just at the opposite ends of the sea right now
-
Same here. I’d be happy with Isak, DCL and Osula as the three forwards as long as we spend everything left on the other priority areas. I’d love us to sign the guy that Everton are getting as the DCL replacement (Thierno Barry), but we just don’t have the funds free to drop £30m on someone like that
-
We need bodies for sure, but I don’t think an Ederson type player would come here to essentially sit on the bench
-
We don’t sign players just for the sake of it as every purchase has a long term financial impact. We’ll keep pushing for the targets we believe will drastically improve the squad and that’s a slow process
-
Our owners are funding every other team indirectly it seems and the Premier League and its teams are all okay with it
-
I’d take him for £65m right now - I mean, who else is left!
-
Be surprised if we don’t go after him for that price. Although I really don’t think he’s shown the progression to command that sort of fee right now
-
It’s all a smokescreen guys
-
He could be the long term solution for Joelinton. Get him on board now in preparation for a £50m sale of big Joe to Saudi in a few years time
