  1. Imagine how different the league would be right now if teams like us and Villa (even Everton to an extent) weren’t restricted in the spending that available
  2. Yeah he’s the one I think we should go for on the right side as he ticks all the boxes for us. I’d be amazed if we don’t try for him if he’s up for sale, but you’d think that a +£60m fee may be the issue
  3. Still gave them a really good game and I came away thinking how didn’t we get a goal in the match
  4. I’d buy him just for that recovery run alone
  5. The way he played against Liverpool at Anfield one year was the only time when I thought there’s a real top player in there. Admittedly I never watched him that much for Everton so I wasn’t sure what we were buying. It’s the price tag that has made us all think harder about what he actually offers and that’s been a bit unfair, especially since we’ve signed some elite level players for in and around his fee
  6. I often dream of taking a bath with Bruno and Joelinton
  7. I’d take bath Thuram and Tobido without any hesitation
  8. Bringing in Thuram would give us 6 quality players for 3 positions. I’m all for it, but doubt that’s the route we’ll go given the other priorities.
  9. You can just see that this guy isn’t going to accept us failing - he wants us to be the best team in the world and won’t stop until we are
  10. Yeah he said 1-2 elite players in his last press conference
  11. I only see one more singing of similar value. Pretty sure Eddie mentioned that we will go after two elite players and only look to get in those that make the first 11 better
  12. A mixture of Pirlo and Gattuso has me convinced
  13. Point still stands - we’re calling him an elite player with that fee I’d imagine
  14. Is he worth the £70-£80m fee?
  15. We must really rate the guy if we will pay what’s being asked for. I would’ve thought we’d be aiming for around £40m mark for someone in midfield. I guess you can’t get anyone decent for that these days
  16. Does he have the pace and energy we would need in that role?
  17. Waking up to all the debate this morning has been great. It’s crazy how far we’ve come in 18 months that we can argue with a AC Milan fan about what’s the better destination for a top quality player looking to win titles. Although I have to say AC Milan (my favourite team in Italy) are way ahead of us and a team we should be looking to mirror performance wise. For those that have seen Tonali more than me, where does he fit in our system?
  18. The offer would be the other way around
  19. Helping our rivals in the league reset their FFP position is the issue. They already have a head start on us and far superior spending power because of it. I’m all for PIF continuing to invest in the infrastructure of the club, but that can only take you so far
  20. PIF bailing out other teams in the league is very annoying

    Joelinton

I’m so fucking happy for him - love it!
  22. I’d love a season ticket, but I know I wouldn’t use every game so somebody would miss out because of me as I have chosen to avoid making the 500 mile round trip. Likewise, it would be great to genuinely have the chance to get to a few home games next season, but I haven’t been since the Rafa days and I accept that means there’s no chance
  23. There’s a fine line to alienating the existing season ticket holders and trying to find ways to increase match day revenue. It’s a hard task for the club especially during the pressures everyone is facing cost of living wise. I actually think the price of the CL tickets are fair, maybe if anything, it might bring about further availability of tickets. I’d happily pay for a home game at that price if it means I can get to a game - it’s been near enough impossible recently. Even when you consider that I live in London and all the other costs that are involved with travelling up mid week, I want to have the opportunity to get involved
