  1. That’s why we need to look for an alternative in style. Anderson is a solid PL player, but he doesn’t get in the team ahead of Schar for me
  2. Thinking West Ham as a team in general being really dangerous from set pieces. Ward-Prowse and Maguire will only add to the threat they already have
  3. I just don’t see the one happening. And I’d actually rather just keep playing Schar unless we find someone with a different profile to him (the pace and power mould that we all keep talking about)
  4. Didn’t think about it in that way. They’ll win plenty of games this season with a JWP cross for Maguire to put away and that should enough to keep Moyes about
  5. He’d argue that’s very good use of the money. Getting players in that suit his style and have good experience in the league (well for 2/3 off them). He’ll be out pretty quickly if it fails though
  6. You’d think West Ham will hold out for £80m - £100m seeing as they only just signed him for £60m
  7. Whenever I’ve seen Llorente I’ve been really impressed with his physicality. I’d have him here for sure
  8. Memberships schemes are generally just an extra way to make money and every club does it. The only benefit to you and I now is that it gives us access to tickets ahead of non-members so that we feel ‘valued’ and continue being invested in the club
  9. l’d rather play Longstaff given the way we setup to play. Tonali is the deepest of the midfield three or he doesn’t start for me
  10. And why does Gordon always just look knackered, must be his general face
  11. The argument they will have, rightly or wrongly, is that they will say that Greenwood has not been convicted of anything. They will want to support him through the difficult time, blah, blah
  12. Can’t wait for the days when we have so many top quality players. But when one is injured we can still just drop £40m on somebody new
  13. That videos gets me emotional. I really hope he goes on to do well - top lad
  14. We still have some games before the season, but I think he deserves a start against Villa. It will probably be Joelinton on the left if we want to get some more physicality in the midfield
  15. Agreed. And that’s why I’m disappointed because he actually wasn’t going to be that superstar even with the better players and top coaching
  16. I’m not bothered about the fee, I’m just really sad that he’s no longer part of the squad. Although I understand the reasons why he needed to go, I’m just gutted about it. I always believed that with better players around Allan (and actually a manager with tactics and good coaching) that he’d become a superstar for us. Sadly that hasn’t happened. I’m just glad that he gave me some little moments of joy at a time when we were rock bottom. I wish him all the best

    Joelinton

I love Big Joe, but I’m thinking that Willock would work better with a Bruno and Sandro midfield

    Anthony Gordon

The price was the main issue. £45m tends to get you fairly close to elite level and he’s nowhere near that level yet
  19. It was a very odd shape and I suspect he tried it to counteract the Villa style. Targett seemed to be getting forward far more than Trippier did and Almiron and Anderson taking up a lot of central positions. I thought Anderson played really well mind
  20. Watched the game back and he didn’t do so well, but the same can be said for a lot of the side. We really struggled with Villa’s pace in behind and the slow build up / quick transition from defence to attack. Hopefully Eddie will learn from this before the league game and adjust. My observations from the 45 minutes he played with Bruno is that it didn’t work at all. In a similar vain to when Longstaff was injured and we just lacked something on the right ride of the midfield three. Both Bruno and Sandro seem to keep taking each others positions and looked like they didn’t know which one of them was doing which role. However, it’s the first start together and that’s what pre-season is for - let them iron this out and get the connection established and I’m sure we’ll be fine
  21. If Barnes is wearing the 3rd kit when it’s announced then he’ll pull me right back in
  22. I really don’t see this as a tactic we will pursue hence why I think Burn and Targett will be who we go with this season. Obviously we need some width and dynamism on the left, but the right side is where we attack / create and shifting the left back to a makeshift back 3 is how we play. It’s similar to what Man City and Liverpool now do
  23. I just don’t rate Gallagher at all, he doesn’t offer anything more than we already have. I’d rather keep the money and play Anderson
  24. The size of these offers are just so tempering. You can set yourself up for life over two years and then come back to Europe
  25. As much as I adore Schar, really want to see a player with pace brought in next to Botman. Or alternatively the left back we target is in the Burn mold, but a lot more athletic
