  1. At a guess, I’d say between £40m and £50m. The fee for Guehi is wildly inflated and £50m for a defender is a great deal for many clubs

It’s such a horrible time for football transfers these days. Everyone has money and can turn down astronomical sums that pre-2020 would seem absolutely crazy. If palace want over £70m for him then imagine how much somebody that’s truly elite would cost. I was joking recently that we wouldn’t accept £120m for Isak and the people I was with laughed at me. I actually think I was £50m short of the fee
  3. I still think that we win the league this year even without any more signings. I may change my opinion after the first shocking away performance that we all complain about and blame no new RW or RCB, but right now I’m quietly confident….
  4. Yeah it’s very strange, but they’re clearly finding workarounds to some rules, have far bigger revenue streams and simply sell academy players for huge sums of money

And we shouldn’t. I really don’t understand the hype around him based on what seem like five decent games at the Euros. Yes, he’s talented and I’d love him here because I think he would grow with us, but the money being talked about just feels wrong to me. I guess that’s the problem with buying from a PL team, everyone has money and thinks every talented player is a superstar
  6. But you need to have consistent success on the pitch to be able to attract the sponsors that the others have. I’m not too worried about the gap at the moment as it was always going to be a long term project given the financial rules that are in place now. The infrastructure behind the team is what I’m looking forward to seeing develop at pace. We need to do something with the training ground and stadium and that can happen regardless of commercial revenue matching the 6 clubs ahead of us
  7. I can really see this one happening given the strong working relationship we seem to have with Chelsea
  8. Nothing will be said about this and things will move on - that’s way this stuff works

I’d be all for selling a £20m player for £50m after a year
  10. That December / January period when we had no players to rotate really killed the season. If the injuries weren’t so bad, we could be talking about a completely different season
  11. I love the way he gets a shot off at goal in tight situations. The winning goal against West Ham was a great example of what he adds with the quick fire finishing
  12. That’s harsh on Rice. He’s really underrated as an England player it seems. He had to cover the entire midfield with no real help from Mainoo. But point taken, I think we need someone of Zubimendi’s quality to sit in there for us

    Anthony Gordon

Yeah there has to be something off there. He got four minutes of football the whole tournament which is just outrageous when the team was so shite
  14. This is why this whole PSR is just a shambles. A club that’s being run properly with huge and secure backing behind it is being forced to sell players to meet some arbitrary deadline. This thing just really stinks and I can’t understand how every club stands for it. I’ve never wanted unlimited spending and still don’t want it. We just need a fairer way to ensure that all clubs can invest the same amount and not be tied to commercial performance. If you have owners that will make up the difference every year then this should be allowed

Why would we even do this, makes no sense whatsoever other than to be seen to be doing things regarding selling players. There’s just no way we go to Liverpool and say do you want to buy Gordon for £60m plus Quansah - I just can’t see it
  16. Seems like the most logical way forward to help both teams not fall fowl of these made up financial rules - this whole thing is just ridiculous
  17. There’s no way it would be that much, but I guess we don’t know the size of the gap right now. My view has always been that if we value a player as a future or current star then it’s worth taking the heat and going heavy on the legal side rather than just selling for the sake of selling. I actually think if we get £30m for him then that’s great business (even though I’d rather he stay) as we don’t know what he will become. I I liken it to Ivan Toney, I always believed he would be a top player, but he needed to leave us to get it that full value stage
  18. I don’t see why we aren’t just taking the points deduction instead of messing about trying to shift players at the last minute. If we think this is great business and will allow us to spend more money then that’s great, but this clearly about balancing the books, which is just wrong. Take the sanction and argue the case at the appeal. There’s weight in the argument that don’t have anyone to sell and the rules are just not practical for a team trying to rise up the league
  19. I’m also of the mindset that who gives a shit. We’ve tried our best to comply, but if we can’t then so be it. The rules shouldn’t be there to force you to sell your best players when you can afford to keep them. Take the points deduction if it comes and then argue on appeal that we’re trying hard to align with the rules, but it’s not possible for a business to grow without losses taking place
  20. Pretty sure that the last time this was discussed and he flat out refused it as an option. He needs the day-to-day grind and being out on the training pitch with a club side. It’s too early in his career to consider the role
  21. I’d rather we go for Federico Chiesa. Obviously olde than both Olise and Mbeumo, but I think he slots in perfectly for the way we play
  22. Yeah it’s a very strange experience
  23. There’s no way Leicester will accept a massive points deduction like that and I’m sure they’ll fight this to the highest court possible
  24. I really think the fact that it’s a Euro championship and Copa America year that this will have more of an impact on the rest and recuperation going into the new season But do we really have a huge amount of players competing anyways…. If this Aussie trip ends up helping us get the income needed to stop the sale of a major asset then I’m all for it.

    Next season

I just stuck some money on us to win the title and I’m going with that. Man City will be docked points next season for sure, Liverpool are in transition, Chelsea changing managers again puts them a step back and Man Utd are just shite. We’ve got players to come back in and no European distraction. As long as we get a better set of fixtures at the start of next season, then I think we’ll come out flying Happy with those 25/1 odds
