James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)
andyc35i replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Whilst I agree with the versatility, I’m hesitant to play him on the right as the triangle movement and runs on that side are based on the RW and Longstaff’s movement. I really don’t know where I’d play him in the team, but we definitely need the preseason to figure it out -

Yep and just by how much they’re paying Ronaldo, Benzema and Kante shows that if allowed we’d spend whatever it takes

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

I might have an each way on that -
All of this just gives me more of an appetite for watching compete to stay in the top 4 and have a crack at the big one
-
Inter have played pretty well in this first half. Just slowing it down too much and making bad decisions when they get around the box
-
It’s just a really weird obsession. I mean of course Sela wouldn’t be our sponsors without us having new owners. But it’s not like we have pumped hundreds of millions through fake sponsorships like Man City did
-
I’ve had a few mates send me quite a few comments from Twitter about people calling and emailing Sela through the contact details on their website. Lots of noise about them being a made up company and asking the PL to investigate

Sadly this is the price of the modern football shirt. I remember the days when I could pick up the new strip for under £40

We have such a great CEO https://twitter.com/nufc/status/1667154596605710336?s=61&t=-N_FvZ5lE5tGRsVxTCJpKA

Davies is my dream signing. I hope he stays at Bayern for another two years and we continue to progress so that his type of signing is actually realistic
-
It’s fine, we’ll just get Alphonso Davies now that they go him
-
Rice won’t go for less than £100m. Sad that we’re not at the stage to compete for a player of his calibre
-
Yep no doubt they would have gone crazy with the spending. But I’m glad there’s some restrictions (although it’s a bit silly sometimes) on what we can do as it will feel better when we start winning things.

We absolutely destroyed Man Utd and should have won by a bigger margin that 2-0. A few days before the game I was in my local Screwfix where we regularly have some football banter. The manager in the store is a Man Utd season ticket holder and made a comment about the earlier games in the final and at Old Trafford. Something along lines of “I’m worried with all our injuries because all you guys do is play long diagonal balls to the big wide men and go after the knock downs”. I tried to explain to the guy that’s he’s a moron, but seeing him a few days after the St James Park game and being greeted with silence was all I needed after my comment of “how’d you enjoy that long ball tactic mate”
-
Something big breaking early will settle everyone down a bit too

Bellingham and Kane would slot in nicely for Madrid. You’ve got to think that helps them get closer to the league title next year
-
65k capacity sounds about right to me. You didn’t see new stadiums in England being built bigger than that. Just need the possibility of easy expansion for the future
-
Kane surely leaves now you have to think. No way this guy can keep him there. That’s not meant to be derogatory to Postecoglou because I rate his work, but how does this appointment persuade Kane his future is at Spurs
-
So do we think we want this guy instead of Thuram or Kone?
-
He’d be fantastic for us and would fit perfectly into how we play
-
Must have been very hard for him to go from such a low level place where standards have slipped dramatically to mixing it with a top level side that’s improving every day. I had noticed prior to yesterday that his stamina is really poor, but give him a strong pre -season and that can be corrected. Once he gets that right then we can see what he’s really about
-
I’m pretty sure I read something about a group teams down at the bottom already coming together to discuss compensation
-
Looked composed on the ball and wanted to be involved all the time. That’s really positive for someone that’s only just turned 17
