Yep no doubt they would have gone crazy with the spending. But I’m glad there’s some restrictions (although it’s a bit silly sometimes) on what we can do as it will feel better when we start winning things.

We absolutely destroyed Man Utd and should have won by a bigger margin that 2-0. A few days before the game I was in my local Screwfix where we regularly have some football banter. The manager in the store is a Man Utd season ticket holder and made a comment about the earlier games in the final and at Old Trafford. Something along lines of “I’m worried with all our injuries because all you guys do is play long diagonal balls to the big wide men and go after the knock downs”. I tried to explain to the guy that’s he’s a moron, but seeing him a few days after the St James Park game and being greeted with silence was all I needed after my comment of “how’d you enjoy that long ball tactic mate”

Something big breaking early will settle everyone down a bit too
-
Bellingham and Kane would slot in nicely for Madrid. You’ve got to think that helps them get closer to the league title next year
-
65k capacity sounds about right to me. You didn’t see new stadiums in England being built bigger than that. Just need the possibility of easy expansion for the future
-
Kane surely leaves now you have to think. No way this guy can keep him there. That’s not meant to be derogatory to Postecoglou because I rate his work, but how does this appointment persuade Kane his future is at Spurs
-
So do we think we want this guy instead of Thuram or Kone?
-
He’d be fantastic for us and would fit perfectly into how we play
-
Must have been very hard for him to go from such a low level place where standards have slipped dramatically to mixing it with a top level side that’s improving every day. I had noticed prior to yesterday that his stamina is really poor, but give him a strong pre -season and that can be corrected. Once he gets that right then we can see what he’s really about
-
I’m pretty sure I read something about a group teams down at the bottom already coming together to discuss compensation
-
Looked composed on the ball and wanted to be involved all the time. That’s really positive for someone that’s only just turned 17
-
Yeah I change my earlier comment in the transfer rumours thread - we need someone on the right that can take all these chances or at least have a better effort. Almiron should have four goals today if he could finish
-
We really could have 5 goals here. It’s crazy how these free shots in the box are being wasted time and time again
-
Those Schar cross field passes are just a thing of beauty
-
We’re all over Chelsea, could easily by 3 up here
-
Phenomenal! Glad he’s been recognised for his incredible form over the last year or so
-
Yeah he’s the one I really want this summer
-
That midfield lineup shows where we really need to focus our attention this summer

I live in Harrow which is an outer London Borough. Really good area as a base to travel into and out of the city. You get the best of both worlds with the surrounding greenery and countryside within easy reach and a train into central London within 30 minutes for all the top quality bars and restaurants, theatres, etc
-
Rather have Maddison for the creativity and then someone like Thuram to add the pace and power that’s suited to our style of play
-
That’s why I’m so excited by this top 4 finish this year. We get to step up our commercial development which hopefully leads to a better quality of player being brought in. And then there’s a better chance we can make it two years in a row given the extra place
-
Yeah the right side isn’t top quality, but Trippier plays high up the pitch so I’m thinking Eddie will be happy to start the season with Almiron and Murphy. A versatile player like Maddison or Szoboszlai is probably the type of signing we’d go for - someone that can play in the middle or out wide if needed
-
Wonder how much he ends up leaving for. I’d always hoped we’d be in for him, but I can see the price still being high even with relegation. We have other priorities first you’d think
-
£30m a year sounds about right to me. We’re a club on the up and gaining a more interest worldwide with our performances on the pitch. The next contract will undoubtedly be far more than that and hopefully it coincides with us continuing to progress

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

And I’d back us to beat any of those teams in pot 3 home and away
