  1. Pleased that he got 45 minutes under his belt. Would’ve been great if he managed to put one of those great chances away just to get him back up and running straightaway
  2. I can understand the stick he takes, but I really just want it to work out for him here and I’d say most of do as well. He’s just got so much raw talent and it would be disappointing if he doesn’t achieve what he can with a team like us on an upward trajectory. Hopefully he keeps working hard and gets back in the side, willing to do the hard running and defensive stuff and ready to make an impact going forward
  3. He’s just got so much class and I just hope we can get some better quality players around him in the next two windows. His ability is wasted here without more movement and skill in and around him
  4. I actually didn’t think we played that badly and on another day we get four or five given the chances created
  5. We had to lose sometime and happy it was to Sheffield Wednesday given how they tried to play the game

  7. Don’t think he’s been the worst on the pitch for us today
  8. I agree that it’s not great viewing, but I don’t put this down as Saudi Arabia sports washing. To me this is just the shit we will have to do now to get sponsors that pay well
  9. That will be around £450m spent since the summer - crazy
  10. The winning run had to come to an end sometime and still an amazing 2022 for the team. We lacked the killer instinct today, but we’ll learn from it and get better against teams that play like Leeds did. I thought it would be against Arsenal that would stop the run and then we’d go on another similar sequence, but who knows
  11. Exactly. The worse thing about football in this country is that you have to have money to compete which in turn allows you to get better and become successful. But everything is skewed against those sides that don’t have the wealth and success is kept for those already at the top
  12. Good detail there. I just can’t see Tielemans being the guy we want - he literally can’t run
  13. Reading the thread about the Khéphren Thuram someone posted earlier makes him the ideal candidate that can do everything
  14. I agree with his value being north of that number. It’s still a huge amount of money and will in a way be off putting to the so called top teams given that we don’t need to sell and will negotiate hard. I only ever see the lad leaving for a Real Madrid if I’m being honest. In the Premier League it’s only really that Man City can guarantee success and the rest we can match going forward very quickly
  15. The late runs he continually makes into the penalty box on the right hand side are great for us. He opens up the space for Almiron and Trippier and offers a positive outlet. It’s just a shame that we seem to struggle a lot of times in finding a decent enough pass for him to get on to
  16. True. There’s no way that he leaves for less than double what we paid (£70m plus) and I think other clubs know this so won’t bother trying
  17. Shakhtar Donetsk just rejected their opening €65m bid according to The Athletic
  18. Definitely a great way for us to move him on and bring in some younger blood as well as further quality to partner Bruno
  19. I’d love us to get both Thuram brothers
  20. I’m fairly certain that the extension has already been triggered
  21. I agree. The club wasn’t built or setup to do these types of transfers as it required significant investment which was not just financial. We’re slowly getting to that place now so it’s definitely going to be the road we go down with one or two statement signings thrown into the mix

Will be interesting to see where we get to by the end of January. We have some winnable home games, but some typically difficult away matches for us. The home games you’d have to say are must win if we want to stay around fourth come February. It’s going to be an interesting period with the transfer window and the two cups games thrown in as well
