I would take Wilson off soonish, he’s isolated and we don’t know how to use him in this situation
-
For me, the best thing Rafa brought to the team was stability no matter how “defensive” some people make it out to be - we were genuinely organised. I used to turn on the tv for those tough away games and know that we weren’t going to get hammered. Granted, we may have been sitting deep, but you knew there was a plan at least in place and that was something we lacked the last two years.

I’m 34 and was dreaming of a trophy before I’m 40. I don’t know why 40 years old is significant, I was just being realistic when takeover happened and giving the new guys five years to turn things around. Relegation would be a set back for sure and I’m clinging to any hope that we can still turn this whole thing around

It could very well be too late by then…

I have made my peace with us going down at the start of the season with the previous regime. Anything other than that will be a welcome surprise. Obviously this time next week is crucial in the grand scheme of things. We need a win from somewhere just to change the mentality. Hopefully we can win on Tuesday as that can be a catalyst for the weekend. But if we take 4 points from the next two, that won’t be the end of the world

I thought he was good today and don’t get the hate. He broke up play quite well in the first half and made a few runs to carry the ball in the last minutes. By all means he made a few poor decisions and touches, but he contributed far more than Shelvey and a lot of others in the team today
-
I thought he did alright and made a lot of effective forward runs as well as the defensive recovery runs you’d expect from a player with a good engine. I think he needs to play in a three with Hayden sitting and Shelvey alongside him. The only issue with that is I think we need Almiron in the side for his work rate and that means Joelinton drops and we lose his physical presence

Are we thinking after 30 November that sponsorship deals will be announced then with a full assessment undertaken when we submit the FFP accounting?
-
I always believed that there was a player in there and I think he can turn his career around with us as Saturday has shown. The problem with the £40m price tag is that you’d expect the player coming in would be the main man, but he’s not going to be that person and will still be having those dips and periods of shit

The bare minimum for a team in our position is to try and be as fit as you can. The fine margins between winning and losing can be simply down to pressing the opposition more frequently or making that lung busting run to steal a game at the end of the 90 minutes. It’s criminal how the Steve’s couldn’t see this and it’s actually still baffles me at how unfit our lads have been this year
-
Agreed. I don’t think we are going to be a club that sees a player like Coutinho being available and decides to spend a huge transfer fee and wages to bring him here just because of the big name status. Granted, we will be looking for experience in a few positions, but I really see us going after quality younger players that are worth the long term investment
-
Imagine having a manager that will try to come up with a tactical plan to get the most out of our best player that’s not “give him the ball”. If he can work out a plan to isolate the full back with ASM, we will score buckets with Willock running in
-
No way he takes charge officially for Brighton - it’s too late in the day now
-
It was goal difference wasn’t it?

We just need to pay for a fast track PCR test and get on the fucking plane to convince the guy to come. Actually, we don’t even need a PCR test to enter Spain so can just get on the plane
-
That’s the viewpoint that concerns me. Let’s just hope this is a negotiation tactic for more compensation
-
Hopefully it’s to finalise everything and not just for ‘more talks’

2024 with the league to follow in 2026

Surely this has to be announced ahead of tonight’s Villarreal game. He can’t be in charge tonight if he’s joining us before the weekend
-
If we end up with Emery before the weekend then I would say the owners have done a good job of recruiting. He’s the best appointment we can make at this time and rather exciting given his track record. Ideally I would have liked him in weeks ago, but at the international breaks gives time to work on things properly

That’s my biggest frustration, the fact that we can’t seem to pass the football at all. It’s like the players see the ball as a grenade and want rid of it the second they get it. As much as I hate Shelvey, I’d actually think he would help with at least trying to pass the ball in some way
-
We just need to scrape a win from somewhere. I don’t know when or where, but it has to be soon and that should hopefully get some confidence back across the entire club
-
I’d swap a lot of Palace’s current squad for our lot
-
I am more convinced that someone like Steven Gerrard walking through the door is the catalyst that we need right now to improve results from the offset. But it looks as though he’s not really been in the running based on what you read because he’s currently in a job
