That's why this deal opens up the opportunity. Every other deal was an end of contract or a deal that made sense due to the player / high wages. This is the first one I'm aware of that breaks this model and includes a ridiculous transfer fee. And I'm sure a lot of players will have their heads turned when they see the wages on offer.

if true you have to admire the club for proactively finding a player to take the heat off Gordon ? McTominay was way to obvious a choice so so they had to find someone that would split the fans between religious beliefs, human rights and freedom of speech (oh and those who don't give a toss and just want everything to be black and white)

I think people forget that other teams are in Europe as well.. Brighton and villa will probably have more games to fit in as well. You can argue it's an easier game but its injuries, Thursday games and fatigue that all starts to add up
