Most scousers I’ve met have been nice lads. When I was younger I took part in those chants, definitely wouldn’t now. 1. We’re one of the most socially deprived areas of the U.K. 2. I’m sure he’s actually not a terrible lad, but my dislike comes purely from hating what he is doing rather than who he is. The idea that you just cut around making vapid, pointless crap and call yourself a “YouTuber” is a symptom of a society that spends all its time wasted on shite like social media. It’s a disease.

The other issue with building a song book is getting a number of people to get a new chant going. The old firm both have excellent songs/chant (aside from the sectarian chants) and a large part of this was developed through the Union Bears/Green Brigade fan groups IIRC.

Re the song book. Personally think It would be good for us to delve into some of our historical Tyneside folk songs, things that are unique to our area and club.

There are definitely times when a simple pass or a one-two would get us in a better position than him running it. I think what you ideally want is for that aspect of his game to be timed better, so it comes as a surprise to the opposition, rather than trying a dribble every time.

He’s clearly a complex character that needs to feel his way into games. I don’t really think he’s ever going to lose that trait of flapping his arms around in frustration either. I do enjoy when he plays but ultimately I think he’s probably not good enough for where we want to be.
