Brighton and Brentford could be two that might be against changing to that kind of system, but I reckon they'd be the only ones. I'm still skeptical that this is even going to change in the summer, surely there's too much paperwork and legal conversations to be had to get it voted through before start of next season.

Well you'd be worried if you were Mattheus Nunes. He's struggled since moving there, mostly because of injuries and a lot of players do in their first season under Pep. I'd imagine they won't let anyone go and Paqueta just adds to their ridiculous bench. I'd take Kovavcic here though if they are looking to offload a midfielder.

Got most of his Milan assists from corners if I'm not mistaken? That could say more about Milan's set peices in general rather than him of course. I actually think our set pieces have been decent recently with Tripps out the team, little bit more variety with different players taking them.
-
That's a big risk arguably. I'd say he's the answer to our 2nd option at RW. We need a proven quality player in that position and Minteh to come off the bench or play in the early rounds of cups. It does mean that Miggy and maybe Murphy can be sold though without any real doubt that we can cover that position comfortably if we get a big signing in as well.

They can get results when they play dogshit every week. We've struggled to get results regardless of whether we were playing well or not. HOWEVER these last 3 game we have managed to get decent points return even if we've not been playing our best stuff across those games, so there's some hope yet.

Last season is last season. Can't take that to mean much. Like I said, being realistic isn't the same as pessimistic.
-
Great pass but I what I took from that was being more impressed by the speed of the forward and composure to finish. Decent stuff.

But that isn't how football works, Fulham beating them means very little, seeing as they then went and drew against a terrible Sheff Utd side and lost to Forrest. Spurs are a better side than Fulham. The way we played in that first half would be a dream for Spurs, we won't be let off the hook like Fulham just did. Obviously I HOPE we get something against Tottenham but I am realistic considering how our form and performances have been this entire season.
-
We'll unfortunately not get anything against Spurs I don't think. Whilst Chelsea play Sheff Utd and then Everton after that. So they could be above us by the time our Spurs game is over. Thankfully after that our run in is a bit smoother, but I could conceivably see us drop to 10th before we play Palace and then fingers crossed drag ourselves back up the table over the next few games.

50/50 that penalty. He does get the ball but because he clatters into Jesus the penalty gets given. Harsh maybe?
-
Barnes is obviously the better finisher of the two, so it does makes sense to have him off the left to cut in and shoot. Where's Gordon is far better and more capable of beating a player one on one, so having him drive to the byline to cut crosses back works in his favour. If those two can stay fit (and Isak) then we'll have the ability upfront to at least score the goals needed to get us up the table. At the other end and in the middle who knows what we'll get.
-
Going to need him even more so if Willock is buggered for the rest of the season. Looks like he's very very close to being back to 100% which bodes well for us.
-
That'll do. Real shame West Ham got the win unfairly. But this win against Fulham makes it 7 points from last 3 and that's decent considering how poor we've been in 2024.
-
Wolves equalizer. Very good news.

Kelly seems like a no brainer now, even Adarabioyo would be decent on a free. I'd actually be content taking both of them to cover Botman and replace Lascelles/Burn in the longer term as squad players. If having both of those in for nothing meant we could get a better quality of RW/CM or ST in then I'd be happy with that.

This sudden clammering to heap praise on Macalister is a strange one. Seems to have come from nowhere and I must've seen 5/6 different outlets running pieces about it. He's a very good midfielder but I think it's all a bit over the top, he cost the same as Bruno did and it's not like Liverpool unearthed him from somewhere unknown.
-
Well fuck, how did he miss that?!
-
Dream come true really for us if "Luxury Tax" becomes reality. Would be a real shame if it happened after the summer transfer window when we could potentially lose Bruno though .
-
They could just do that exact thing for us and it would be an astronomical success. If they don't, they're idiots.
-
Big fat L incoming here. Fatigue, both mental and physical will have taken their toll with the same players having to play 90mins again.
-
Luton always play for the win that's why they lose so often and concede so many goals. Everton will play for a point tonight so I don't see them causing us the same problems Luton did. Doucoure and Onana against our 3 in the middle is worrying though I'll admit.
-
We know it's not Bruno or Isak, so who cares who it is. Everyone is injured already, what's one more to add to the list. If anything I'll be happy to see some fringe players or youngsters get the chance to step up and play well.
-
Anderson at LW crossed my mind also. But Barnes not starting would be crazy to even consider from Howe. I know he's just coming back from injury but still.
-
I totally agree. Rice has been excellent and certainly worth to Arsenal what they paid for him. But considering they are more or less the same age; who commands the greater fee, a proven Premier League CM or a proven Premier League ST? You can argue Rice has proven it over a longer period but goals cost money and Isak has a slightly better than 1 in 2 ratio currently in PL games.
-
Makes this season even more important that he keeps scoring goals, not just for our hopes right now but for this exact reason. If he (somehow) finishes with the golden boot, that adds £10M on whatever anyone is thinking is a decent price for him. Only got to ask one question, is he worth more than Rice/Caicedo? Yes he definitely is.
