Murphy on and assist rightaway
-
Our system has so many flaws. No left footed right winger, slow cbs, huge gaps and wingers very wide making Isak isolated
-
Has been awful today
-
Non-existent pressing, huge gaps when defending and Isak isolated. Howe doesnt seem to have a clue how to fix this same problem.
-
I do not believe a second that there was anyone willing to buy him. He is finished as a top level striker, at least if he doesn't miraculously get over that injury problem. WIth that age and injury record and decent wage, no one is going to touch him.
-
Not sure about these stats, that indicate he has created around as much threat as Pickford...
-
For teams like France and Italy, it really doesn't. Tempo in international games is usually lower anyway. But I was certain he would be eased back anyway. He will come good, no worries. I am a bit worried about our attacking play in general though. Bruno does not have enough passing options and Livramento has been poor.
-
You do know that a) Nations League games are pretty much friendlies b) tempo in the Premier League games is way higher than in international games I am not saying I would have made the same decisions, but i try to understand his reasoning. On the other hand you and me are guys on the sofa playing FM and Howe is one of the best managers in the league. Pretty sure he has his reasons for these decisions. If someone thinks Howe rates Longstaff more than Tonali, give your head a shake.
-
I dont think starting one player in Longstaff inplace of Tonali who has not played much is ”suboptimal”. Barnes yea, but neither him or Gordon are RW. Murphy (or Almiron) is a natural choice there. Yesterday Nkunku, Hudson-Odoi and Garnacho came of the bench to score. Would have guessed they should usually be starters.
-
You are right, but we are also starting players, like Burn, who puts us under pressure anyway. Why not Kelly LCB by the way? and positive is that Howe is using the squad, last year we ran out of steam in November. But most likely Tonali will start from now on at least.
-
Agree on Barnes, cause he wasnt playing with NT. Gordon hasnt been as good as last year. Barnes earns a place.
-
Yes, but there might be 100 reasons that we don't know behind this. "Playing your best players" meant for example with Pardew that he played Ba as a left winger, which didn't really work defensively at all. His changes turned the game, and he made them early. Great job. Overall our performances have been poor, especially attacking-wise. Right side is dead at the moment. Livramento and Murphy doesn't work at all, and centrebacks cannot play to midfield if Bruno is marked.
-
This. Both are able to make runs that especially Longstaff does not make.
-
People might not realize, that Howe might just want to have options at the bench? Bringing in Murphy and Longstaff against tired legs does nothing. Bringing Harvey and Tonali does. I am pretty sure Tonali starts the next one. Isak is again wandering nowhere to be seen for a long while. Not his fault, but I like it when he drops deep and turns. Our system especially in away games isolates him way too much. He is not a target man to hold up the play. This is really something Howe should fix. Maybe Trippier starting away could be one answer. He adds pace to our play with his passing. Tino is more of a dribbler. Burn is horrible. I mean he blocks and wins headers, but he is so slow and poor 1v1 that it is ridiculous.

Longstaff and Burn awful. -
Bournemouth are running themselves to the ground in 60 minutes with that style. They have had enough of chances to win it
-
That high with that speed is dangerous nonetheless
-
Studs first to knee? Yea it is.
-
Lol. They are awful

Howe said he thinks players signed before were good and we love them to bits. That is exactly sort of diplomatic answer Howe can give. He knows Wood and Targett were not great deals, but of course manager is not going to single anyone out. He cannot answer any other way. -
Too easy. But Carsley’s England is a lot better than Southgate’s
