  1. I have a feeling that they will build on that win though. Olise is getting back, Eze is there, and Mateta found some form. Might be a tough one this.

Anita, our only signing after breaking into the Europa League. For £6,7 mill. The Pardew + Ashley combination was "interesting"..
  3. Assuming that he's telling the truth, that should be the end of "why did they let him go?" and "they've made a mistake" statements. He knew Palmer was good. Maybe they could've gotten more, but they probably also didn't want to force him to stay just because they didn't get a bit more. Clubs are not realistically going to pay more than that for a player who has barely played.

Imagine staying at a club for more than a year (?) while pretty much the entire fansbase want you gone. We semi wanted us to lose games just incase that increased the odds of him getting the sack.
  5. I'm seeing Tierney has struggled with injuries this season. That was the reason why we were a bit sceptical about him on here. Kind of glad we didn't go for him, assuming that Hall can become something in the future.

Speaking of.. Just found this interview, and it's quite funny. https://www.foxsports.com.au/football/a-league/steven-taylor-recounts-infamous-bowyerdyer-fight-on-fox-football-podcast/news-story/423e0f90da231cc562d6893a2bc5eae5

Crazy how the Bowyer and Dyer incident happened in the same game. As a kid I was so embarrased that day.

    Nick Pope

Absolutely, and Nick Pope is not one of Southgates favourites anyways, so it might make a difference.

It's like grocery shopping to them.

Southgate seems to not care that much about it. He stopped picking Kalvin Philips the moment he started playing again, and everyone could see his currrent levels. I wonder if he would've been picked if he didn't leave Man City to play games.
  11. Roy Keane said (about the Ronaldo situation at Man Utd): "People are obsessed with the pressing game these days." He said it as if pressing was a strange thing to care so much about. It was quite telling of the difference from when he played. I remember it from when I was a kid, the strikes rarely bothered to put much energy into chasing down the defenders or the goalie, and there was definetly not much organized press with several players involved.
  12. Surely an underdog benefits from a penalty shootout rather than a 90 min replay? They probably should've consulted lower leagues, but I don't see how no replay will be worse for lower league teams.

Sorry, didn't see it was already bumped.
  14. Will 7th and 6th be Europa League then, instead of 6th and 5th? In that case it also matters if you finish 7th.
  15. Is PL the only league who adopted the new stoppage time rules? If so, as a consequence, PL probably has ball in play 10-15 min longer than the other leagues each game (less timewasting + more stoppage time). This is just an estimate, no idea how accurate that is. The English teams who has played in europe this week has looked tired. Pretty much all of them, maybe except for West Ham. Maybe the new rules has hurt English teams in Europe?
  16. Grealish and Haaland would do incredible things at a different club. Maybe Haaland wouldn't score even more, but atleast the goals would look more spectacular. I miss seeing Haaland use his pace to run away from defenders. I just dislike how certain players look at City, where they allways face low blocks and aren't given much freedom. But, obviously that system works wonders for them.
  17. This is a big reason as to why I'm tired of them winning the league over and over. I hate watching them play, it doesn't excite me at all. It's all so predictable and controlled. As much as we don't like them, I would much rather watch Arsenal or Liverpool play. I'd say Arsenal plays the most exciting football out of the 3.
  18. Saudi beat Argentine. They won the WC. We beat PSG. They win CL. It's all coming togther!
  19. I hope Haaland goes to a different club. I actually think he would benefit from that. He barely gets any space, he's just there to soak attention lately.
  20. Training?? That's dangerous. Put him in a bed or something.

    Harvey Barnes

What xA number you are getting also depends on chemistry with teammates, tactics, how opponents set ut against you, your teammates movements, how they are setting you up, and so on. Again several Leicester fans seemed to be under the impression that Harvey Barnes would have even more impressive numbers with us, in terms of both assists and goals. I think he was just an underrated player, and we are starting to see that. I don't think that he has transformed in a couple of months of training with a new team after a long term injury. It took Gordon way longer than that, and Gordon was younger.

    Joe Willock

Maybe we should've taken this decision earlier, but I'm happy that we finally did. This never ending cycle is not great for his carreer.
