Seems like the amount of starting options can be a bad thing for them. Playing pretty much the same attackers over and over would give them the best cosistency and continuity (especially when it works), but it seems like the manager feels like he has to give some of the other 4 expensive attackers some more chances to play.

Really didn't think we would be able to compete with Chelsea this season, but their form has dipped lately. Right now I think Arsenal and ofcourse Liverpool are the only teams that we can't catch up with. The rest will be possible to beat.

Why didn't Reguillon get booked for that absolute rage towards the ref? Hall got booked for punching the air earlier in the season. Did they stop giving those?

4 big chances is a lot though, we had more opportunities aswell. Our xg was 2.26, and that's pretty high, but ofcourse we didn't underperform it that much. Scoring 2 was fine, but if we miss those 2 chances in another game it's going to be crucial. And Arsenal fan of messaged me and just said "Isak and Tonali should have scored" when giving his opinion on the game. That was his main takeaway. If Man Utd had come back somehow, we'd be looking back at those chances.

Last game we were all over them at 2-0 first half, then both Tonali and Isak missed those huge chances. Right after that Schär almost gifted them a goal to get back in it. We've been creating tons of chances, and I expect the same today. If that happens we should win as long as we're not too wasteful.

Despite the scorelines we've been a bit wasteful with our chances. I think we'll win as long as we're not too wasteful.

Man of the match incoming.

I actually hope Botman doesn't start this one, even when that means having to rely on Kelly. It seems like the club has learned their lesson on this anyways, so whatever decision they make will probably be of good reason. I'm just scarred from last season.

Indeed. I've ended up regretting capping someone else each time I've done so based on fixture. Salah can easily haul against anyone. Not that Man Utd at home is all that difficult anyways.

You just made me agree with froggy. Disaster.

I can see into the future. Højlund will never reach the level of Isak. Save it for later. Thanks.
-
I'm sure Manchester United would reject a straight swap deal between them.
-
Imagine how many goals Isak would score against Copenhagen..
-
Dortmund were so shit that they made the final.
-
You played Copenhagen and Galatasaray on top of that, while we played PSG, Dortmund and Milan.. Funny how the level of the opponent only matters when you want it to.
-
Isak scored 17 goals in a season in La Liga (so league only) at Højlunds current age, so he better hurry.

I think staying fit will be a big question mark here, though. Seems to be getting more injuries in his older years.

It definelty looked like our gameplan. The only frustration for me was that there were a couple of times where we went from being in attack to playing the ball all the way back, only to give it away. In the first half we almost conceded that way (Schärs misplaced pass). It happened again in the second half when we were attacking, then played it back to Dubravka who gave it away. That time we had moved our team back and it wasn't that dangerous.

I was thinking the same. He's slowly replacing the creativity that we've been missing after Trippiers fall.

There were some discussions about the quality of our team earlier in the season, and I think the latest few games has shown that we do have a pretty good team. Yesterday the difference in quality was obvious to me. In bad times it's easy to forget how good some of these players are when it clicks. It was all about making Tonali and Hall work in the side, and now our team is stronger than last season. We don't have the best depth, but yesterday we had Livramento, Willock and Barnes coming off the bench. Not too bad. Not taking anything away from Howe at all. After all some of these players have gotten much better after signing for us. It's also not just about having quality in the team, you've got to make it work somehow. Easier said than done. Right now it works very well. Even the defending looks rock solid, a pleasant change from last season (although that was partly due to injuries ofcourse).

Atleast getting Watkins looks pretty good.

Benching Hall probably wasn't the smartest..
