There's also the new double jeopardy rule. The fact that Edersok went for the ball matters now (in terms of red or not red).
-
I have been defending referee or VAR decisions that went against us before, even when few people did, when it's the rules that are the problem. I don't agree with anyone who blames the rules on the on field ref and the VAR team on the day. This is one of the few times I defend a decision that went our way, and I instanly get called biased. I guess I can only defend decision that goes against us from now on, if I want to be "balanced".

If I had been on your side it this, you definelty wouldn't have cared.
-
He actually changed the direction right when he kicked it, to go to the side, in the same way you would do if you were actually trying to make it past the keeper with the ball. He was just taken down very shortly after the touch. You really need to watch it again, at both full speed and slow motion, instead of making things up. Whether he was really going for pen is another discussion, but that's a discussion that doesn't really matter if we are discussing whether the ref team made the right call yesterday. They had to give it.
-
Because it was a pen all day in todays football, and I have no idea how it even became a discussion. It's a matter of fact, not opinion. I myself wouldn't complain about the refs giving it against us at all. I would know that they had no choice. Besides, I was far from the only one being "argumentative". You picked out me, but don't mind the ones agreeing with you being "argumentative".

Was thinking LW aswell. But we have Gordon and Barnes there.
-
He clearly hits his left leg, and you can't really tell with certainty that Gordon could've stayed on his feet.. It doesn't take that much at that speed. Only Gordon knows. The refs can't tell either, and the rules are not at that level of subjectivity. If they were, we would have even more inconsistent refereeing. Going down easily was pretty common 15 years ago, by the way. I definetly think most players 15 years ago would go down there, even if it actually was possible to stay up. The ref will nearly allways give that on field, and that would be enough 15 years ago.

xG: Newcastle (1.69) 1-1 (0.82) Man City

In what way was he initiating it? He was just running at full speed in a completely normal way. What was he supposed to do to avoid the contact? Just stop running and let Ederson take the ball? By the way, when you look at it full speed, you will see how fast everything happened. Slow motion is misleading if you forget about the fact that it's slow motion. "Anyone whos played football at basic level " haven't tried to run at that the speed Gordon is going, and then have their standing leg being nudged like that.
-
I had forgotten that one in the list of pens we never got vs City. But atleast 9.5/10 times these are given. I've seen it so many times before.
-
Gordon was first to the ball. Maybe he kicks it past the goalie to get a pen, but that doesn't matter. That allways gets given. Show me an example of that not being given? If you think that shouldn't be a pen, then you have a problem with the rules, not the decision.

"Eddie Howe is a manager for many years, a lot of times, and never creates a problem in press conferences" My favourite quote.
-
And then he went on to claim that he was the one who recommended Howe to the new owners. Absolutely shameless..
-
Maybe we made them look bad, but they looked like a different team without Rodri today. Their next few games will be telling.
-
Noone has had the points added, but Saka has 39 bonus score, which is the most alongside Martinelli. It might get corrected tomorrow or monday, sometimes it happens later.
-
Noticed that myself. Might get changed still.
-
Would be fun if there were 4 teams in it for the title. Pretty unlikely though.
-
So the only team with a CS this gameweek is Fulham. After I owned 2 of their defenders for 5 gameweeks letting in 1 per game. Including a 90+5 goal vs West Ham. It was nailed to happen when I took them out, wasn't it?
-
Sideways move.
-
How did that happen.. Might get changed later though.
-
Oh, and I got tired of Leno and Robinson after 4 rounds of playing both with no clean sheet. Dropped both, so I fully expect it to happen today. I'm already trying to cope.
-
Palmer man.. Can't bring him in, but I know he will keep punishing me. Went for Jackson, who has 4 pts from those 4 goals.. And Saka won't get more than 6, as usual.
-
They've taken 2 pts vs Ipswich and Forest at home in the last 2 before this one. They are not that great atm.
