This is going to get messy for the wall pushers

Howay a sinkhole!

He's going to be one of those players in a few years who has gone for a total of ÂŁ200m+ in fees over his career and been mostly shit everywhere he's gone
-
Fairly inoffensive yesterday, save for one embarrassing moment during a corner set up where they had 2 spare players and he had to ask Tindall who to mark. Back in my day you just used to shout "I've got 2" and get the lad doing nothing to mark up goal side

Brennan Johnson is absolutely dogshit

Probably so Sky have the extra hour to adequately pipe off both clubs before people switch over to TNT for Villa Tottenham

I'd have been happy to make a change but if we've decided that's what we're doing then that'll do for me. Onwards and upwards.
-
Yep, we've also been crying out for a forward player who can cover all 3 positions for years, if we think he's able to do that it's potentially another box ticked/allows us to kick a can down the road for a year
-
Aye, probably the first time for us today he looked like he's got the ability to put it all together. Usually I watch him and have to try and work out how a player can simultaneously look like he's absolutely shit and that he definitely has something about him

If anything Clive, he caught his chance on Saturday too well

Do any teams play with midfielders who are just old-school ball winners then pass off to someone who knows what they're doing these days?

It's such a weird piece, covers all his problems and then pivots at the end to mental health and his mum dying, complete with "Call Samaritans if you're struggling". Essentially it's not much more than a PR puff piece, wouldn't be surprised if he paid for it or actively approached the journo just to get a bit of attention or sympathy

I don't like the blue tick mob but hats off here to Magpie 24/7 for his commitment to the cause and his social scheduling for engagement, one year to the day those quotes were first published

Does being told late last night mean that while Hope was amateurishly pottering around the grounds watching the manager finding a parking space and drinking coffee in the lounge that Ryder was hiding under someone's bed the entire time to get the scoop? Or just that he was grounded but his Ma let him go on twitter before he went to bed?

I've just read it actually includes forfeiting any FedEx Cup bonuses in Koepka's case and apparently just for this year, so I'm talking absolute bollocks on that one anyway but they also get equity in the PGA Tour organisation itself I believe, which he's also not allowed for a certain period of time. If the bonuses are only withheld for a short time it arguably won't make too much difference anyway, given it might take a while for the returnees to get fully up to speed with the level etc, offset for the good players by the hefty sign-on fees they got anyway I guess.

I don't think they'll "concentrate on us" as such but don't see them ditching us either, at least in the short term. A PL club is a decent asset and one they'll most likely turn a profit on one day, especially if direct to consumer streaming takes off for the PL. The golf has just been a money sink, as soon as the PGA Tour brought in the Signature Events and put the prize money up that was game over for LIV really, their play was either a merger or takeover and I believe whatever talks they were having about some sort of co-operation fell by the wayside a while back. I think they were still wanting to do something with the DP World Tour but that obviously has nowhere near the clout of the PGA. The returnees will either take the Reed or Koepka route depending on how it all shakes out - I think Rahm still has fines outstanding to pay to the European Tour but as you say, there's no chance he and Bryson don't get welcomed back with open arms, it'll just be 5-10 years of not getting their fingers in the bonus pot, but they'll probably win a couple of FedEx Cups a piece in that time to compensate anyway. Also apologies to non-golf watchers!

You must have had your call with a different person to me, they told me it was getting an overhaul 🤣 Half time doughnuts and churros though eh?!

He probably needs to leave for our own collective well-being as a fan base at this point. Either being shit because he's not as good as Isak or promising because he's the next Harry Kane is quite the range

Longer term, taken on a game-by-game basis, Kev Lawson suggests the data shows Newcastle have “contrived to lose games we should’ve drawn and drawn games we should’ve won” — hence the Premier League-high 25 points dropped from leading positions this season. I've got no idea if the Athletic is now written for six-year-olds, "optimised for AI" or what, but this is a whole new level of No Shit Sherlock that anyone with eyes doesn't need data to tell them

Ugarte has been linked going the other way to anyone linked with Man U hasn't he? There was talk of them trying to sign Seydeykey from the mackems and wanting to send Ugarte the other way. From Paris to Sunderland in 24 months, poor bastard

I've been thinking and talking about this with people a lot, particularly in the context of not needing the footballing brain of Johan Cruyff to have watched us over the last 3 or 4 years and clearly see the strengths and the flaws in how we play. But then you can't really argue with the results of getting into the Champions League twice and winning a little shiny silver thing. I mean, you can, but given our particularly recent history, you'd have been mad to look at the last few years and what we've achieved and go "Yeah but....."

Periodic reminder that the Champions League follows the actual laws of the game and it's Howard Webb who has his own version of handball

I mean it's shocking defending aswell mind
