Having said that, there's no way we win this game. A point against these would be a victory of sorts given Newcastle’s record against them.

The hyperbolic language that gets chucked around is the issue for a lot of us. Losing at home to two miracle finishes from Nunez is “disgraceful”, Pope is a “bottom 3 goalkeeper” etc. Like, criticise away, there is much to pour over but the language used at times is reminiscent of a kid rage quitting football manager, and makes a decent discussion impossible.

We will not get hammered. We will play well as we virtually always do against top sides at home, but we may get done by a bad decision or a late lapse because Liverpool.

Yeah but only by default. He will obviously want to hold onto his squad as it was 1. Small and 2. Performing Being loyal to limited players is part and parcel of building a culture. It’s easy to be utterly ruthless from behind the ol keyboard, but limited player Dan Burn was sorely missed tonight and Almiron has little to do with our poor performances given he doesn’t actually play. Howe was much work to do, that is clear - but he needs more help then he is getting.

We did. A free replacement for Dummet and a kid from Sheffield Utd. Nowhere near enough for a side challenging for Europe given the strength of the league. it doesn’t seem to be Howes job to “ship players out”. Maybe I’m wrong but we’ve had one semi serious bid for Trippier and that’s about it. We don’t have saleable assets. By all means criticise the subs today which seriously backfired but Howe has been let down too.

Lads he hasn’t been given a signing in two windows. There is plenty of mitigation. We’re also living in an era where nothing clubs have trophy winning managers. Tonight was insanely frustrating with poor performances all over and Howe made some bad calls. But West Ham were also incredibly fortunate at crucial points and we didn’t get a single break. Paqueta only seems to bother playing against us, and he shouldn’t really be playing at all. It was a clear penalty. Gordon and Isak have to score those first half chances. There are issues, but Howe deserves time (and signings)

Yeah I’m not saying he’s actually biased, I’m sure he just doesn't like Klopp, but because of what he’s said and his past non decisions for them his impartiality will be called into question every time and they can’t have that so he has to go I guess.

He was VAR when Pickford assaulted Van Dyke. He’s finished and rightfully so.

I think the hatred on here towards Klopp is blinding people. He’s done for if the video is real cos he has an unfortunate history of bad decisions against Liverpool (Pickford on Van Dyke, a clear penalty against Arsenal etc)

I’m massively biased, but it seems a really weird choice by Amorim if he was truly in the running for the city job.

Howe should get the rest of the season unless we absolutely plummet down the league. His achievements here are outstanding, he’s had no help at all in two windows - I’m astounded people are seriously saying his time is up. Does anyone remember Robson to Souness?
