They’re not though. But today was about us. -

Schar looked fairly knackered in Marseille after a Herculean effort against City. No issue with Burn coming in in his preferred position. -
Like Solanke? Yeah, whatever happens to that guy? Ibe is the only one really, it’s a bit of a myth. In terms of Elanga, it’s been a terrible start. I won’t write him off, because even though he’s never been a superstar he’s never been this bad either. He probably needs a sustained a run of games, good bad or indifferent, the problem is our form is so all over the place we can’t afford to give it to him. It’s hard to regain form and confidence off of 20 minute cameos.

Are you seriously suggesting Joelinton’s poor form this season is because of Burn? I think it’s okay to say he’s been pretty rubbish all on his own, but looked back at it yesterday, which is great.

Newcastle United 2-1 Manchester City (22/11/25) | post-match from pg. 43

I say this every time, but this, THIS, is why you do not sell Barnes. -
I mean almost everyone has to hold their hands up and say he’s a much better player than they thought. I always thought he was useful, not amazing, but he’s scoring some ridiculous goals these days.

Of course you can argue it that way. No one wanted to lose Anderson or Minteh. It’s a killer (though so many people on here did not rate Anderson at all when we had him) We all want super high ceiling technical geniuses across the side but it’s very difficult to do when we’re getting turned down all over the place. I look around the league, who made signings I’d have wanted? A lot of people wanted Elliot and he’s been useless so far. It’s hard to know. Sunderland did great business in the unknown gem category but would any of them make us better? Hopefully suds can work some magic going forward. It’s much harder to improve to this point- jumping from Euro qualification to title contenders is going to be insanely difficult it feels. -

Go back and look at the post I was replying to. Theres a grown up debate to be had about transfers at the club (though our hit rate is still ludicrously high) but calling any of Elanga, Wissa, Barnes or Ramsey “PL shite” is just beyond lazy or credible. -

Like Tonali, and Isak. And Guimares. Botman. Oh and Thiaw. -
I’d have thought last seasons sensational turn around and cup win would have given Howe untouchable status for at least a couple of seasons, barring complete disaster. it hasn’t been his or the teams greatest run of late but his credit in the bank remains unparalleled.

Hall will be back in when he’s fully fit, though I doubt that’s tomorrow. Could Burn (temporarily) displace Botman? No one talks about it but is there THAT much between them at centre back? We’ll see I guess. -
Yeah it’s a pity. But Mbeumo turned down far better sides than us to sign for that rabble. You can’t reason with fanatics.
-
Hmm. Fair enough but he did nothing today against a mediocre backline, poor service notwithstanding.
-
Richarlison has been appalling lately and the Kolo Muani gamble hasn’t worked at all thus far. Man U meanwhile are benefitting from having three very good players as opposed to one.
-
I mean it’s very generous to call Brennan Johnson a defender.
-
He’s having a terrible time of it. Even if he’ll never be a world beater he is clearly better than this. Echo the call for support.
-
The optimist in me thinks he also needs to send a message to the club, “yeah I signed that extension years ago, but don’t think that I won’t be expecting a big new deal this season”
-
Italy will never have the money and there needs to be a blanket ban on doing business with Liverpool. Arsenal don’t need him, so that leaves…City, PSG, Real?
-
Could listen to Dan all day. Reading between the lines I think he’s frustrated that our star players haven’t been rousing themselves for run of the mill league games.
-
I mean I’m not lamenting his exit but that seems incredibly harsh given the rapid rise in our commercial performance.
-
There’s been a fair amount of intimation that Wissa will opt out of AFCON as he feels he owes us.
-
Genuine question, why do people hate v necks?

Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
Crimson Cardigan replied to joeyt's topic in Football
I assume he’d be desperate to return and we could secure a favourable deal over others.
