Would benefit from a rest. He’s played the most football of anyone this season. He was nowhere near as bad as people are making out, but the signs of some loss of attention have been creeping in across some games recently.
-
He’s better further forward as an AM or LW, imo. He’s really poor defensively and we get caught out with him playing bang in the middle.
-
Just well off it tonight. Feel like he needs a good run of games but we really can’t carry passengers like he was here.
-
He’s an expensive Adama Traore.
-
Has one poor or quieter game and people are all over him. Thiaw, Pope, Trippier, Tonali and Ramsey were all worse than him tonight. About our only player who could pull a rabbit out of a hat at the moment. He should be the first name on the teamsheet.
-
A good keeper saves the 2nd and the 4th is well, just terrible. Sadly we only have Ramsdale on the bench and he’s no better than Pope so we have what we have until the summer.
-
1. It’s not a criticism that he doesn’t change his system in game, it’s that he seems to make us perform worse when he does. Today a great example of that. 2. His substitutions are either pre-game scripted or after the horse has bolted. It’s extremely rare he has a great impact on a game with his subs. 3. It’s not a criticism of his rotation, we absolutely must rotate, but I think we rotate the wrong players for the wrong games (see Wolves as an example) 4. The big gap between our midfield and defence won us a cup? What? 5. Are you saying Howe was responsible for every signing? 6. Burn at LB but also CB during periods too, Tonali, Big Joe at times, Pope. 7. Give over man That’s genuinely one of the worst excuses I think I’ve ever heard. You’d be crying with laughter if someone like Pep or Klopp used that.

Sounds like an irrational emotional ramble to me. What have I not admitted I got wrong? Think you won’t have to look hard (like, 3 days ago). I also disagree about being “constant moaning and negativity”, you can refer to my posts in the Elanga, Ramsey and Wissa threads to find your recent examples there. But if we ignore all of that, you’re absolutely right.
-
No, I haven’t. I’d assess it at the end of the season. Who is or isn’t available at that point would factor into the decision as to whether to change or not.
-
Playing well against PSG and then shite for 60 minutes at Liverpool and conceding 4 is literally a great point to prove some of the areas I’ve highlighted. The rest of your post is just an irrational emotional ramble.

I’ve not said I want him sacked, have I?
-
PSV, Leeds, mackems, Forest, Palace and Man Utd have all managed to get a draw or win at Anfield this season. If we start writing games off because of historical outcomes we may as well never get on the pitch. They’re shite and we played well for half an hour and then fell apart, which we’ve seen happen multiple times this season.

The Howe defend-at-all-cost members out in full force I see. You can love Howe and everything he has achieved with us, beyond anything ever expected, but also recognise he has flaws and these are at times holding us back from progressing further. Plenty of areas that are well worth discussing: 1. His in-game management 2. His substitutions 3. His rotation of the squad 4. The ginormous gap between our defence and midfield that he’s never addressed in four years 5. His influence over some signings (for example, Elanga) 6. His rose tinted glasses for some players and continuing to play them when we have more inform/better players available 7. His inability to use a system that works with Woltemade despite huge sum being paid for him I stand by all my previous comments. He’s great but not elite and we’ll not progress further than this with him. A year in and a year out of the CL, with some good cup runs. That might be good enough for some.

I’m convinced if VAR slow that down it’ll show the ball was still moving on the goalkick.
-
If you’re blaming Thiaw more than Hall, Trippier or Pope for that goal you haven’t an absolute clue.
-
We’ve not even had Salah’s goal yet so we’ll need to score 3.
-
Feel like we’re at the point where we need a massive result to spur on the season and coming from behind here is exactly what that would be.
-
Absolutely fantastic before and absolutely appalling since going ahead. Fuck knows what we were doing after the goal, just completely fell apart.
-
What the fuck is Trippier doing on the halfway line? Get the old cunt back.
-
Was the ball not still moving at the goal kick? Looked like it to me.

Listening to Gerrard and it all suddenly makes sense as to why he’s an atrocious manager. Also - Salah nailed on to score against us, as he always does. -

If we don’t listen to YNWA uninterrupted, I would be extremely surprised -
