It was a stonewall penalty. You can’t move your arm towards the ball and stop it going into the goal and not concede a penalty.
-
You just know we’ll beat Villa and get Man City away as a reward.
-
Mourinho would be nothing other than a lust/fantasy that turns out to be rancid. Like rimming.
-
What the fuck is this point? May as well ask if we had Barcelona’s team and manager, would we play in Spain?
-
Lose midweek and we’ll have an answer to the question as to whether the owners are ruthless, if they are, he’ll be in big trouble (rightly or wrongly). I still expect and want him to see out the season but that’s getting really precarious.
-
This is where Howe has far too much influence over transfers and where people who try to downplay his influence are proven wrong. Any club would be bringing in fullback cover this month. Only one man sat in front of the press stating we didn’t because there was nobody to improve the team. Howe thinks that because his fullback cover is two of his purples, Burn and Trippier.
-
If Howe wanted new players, he’d have got them. He himself has said we chose not to make moves as there was nobody better available.
-
Had a poor game today but I dread to imagine where we’d be this season without him.
-
Thought he was excellent again today. He and Hall about the only two that were.
-
Played in his proper position and looked better.
-
Put Murphy in at Villa and play Elanga in the important games? It’s hardly rocket science.
-
Thiaw should’ve started at RB tonight. We’ve been willing to play a midfielder there and Thiaw can actually play there. Shambolic from start to finish for him again tonight.
-
Just no idea how he watched Trippier in the last two games and thought “ah, I’ll play him again”. At fault for 2 of the 3 goals. Again. As for why we started Murphy, when Elanga finally looked like he was coming into his stride, I cannot explain. Tiredness? How? Elanga has barely kicked a football all season. This is getting seriously bad. The last thing I want is for his tenure to end badly, he doesn’t deserve that but my word, I really cannot see where we get our next win from.
-
Forest have made a brilliant effort at completely self combusting since last season.
-
He’s our most important player, he simply cannot be sold under any circumstances.
-
Fuck me. I hope we’re seriously not considering replacing him with Anderson or Curtis fucking Jones. He’ll go. The noise started at a similar time with Isak IIRC, I thought it was Liverpool just trying to unsettle him ahead of the final, but clearly not. His replacement will be a huge factor as to how we perform next season. Hopefully we get it right.
-
Still think he’ll come good. Combination of lack of full pre-season, significant injury, team low on confidence is a recipe for a striker to struggle.

Newcastle United vs. Brentford: 7/2/26 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)
Sir Joel Inton replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
To be fair, with Brentford, Everton, Man Utd, mackems, Bournemouth, Brighton and West Ham as our remaining home games, you’d be disappointed not to get maximum points from that for a team seriously competing for European places. Would put us on 54, so CL could become a possibility with just 3 wins away from home between now and the end of the season. Any slip up at home will increase the pressure to perform away from home to balance it out. -
Happens to any player above 6ft 2. Burn gets grabbed and pulled all over the place at any set piece and never gets anything. Referees seem to have this mad view that tall people are incapable of being fouled.

Probably be a better use of your time to just not respond to my post if you have nothing constructive or credible to say. This username ‘bantz’ is absolutely lifting.
-
The rules working exactly as they intend. Now Leicester can go back to being a yoyo team somewhere in the Midlands that nobody takes any notice of. Thankfully they’ll not win titles or compete in Europe again. Otherwise Man Utd might miss out. Phew.
-
I’ve been really consistent in that I think there are lots of credible concerns but willing to give him the season to turn it round or demonstrate some green shoots. If we get to the summer outside of Europe with limited further progress in the cups, I’d assess who is available (and interested) before making a decision on whether we are better to stick or twist. If we end up deciding Howe is still considered the best man available for the job due to lack of suitable candidates, I’d have no issue with him going into next season. If Howe is poached by England, I think it’s a good opportunity for him, I think he would perform really well at it and I think it would strengthen England. If that happened and he took it, he’d leave with a very good reputation. If you cannot comprehend any of that, then that’s more an issue that you need to own rather than I.
-
Villa (a) and Forest (h).
-
If I was, 100% would’ve used the username Edgar Davids. Massive missed opportunity.
-
Completely agree. He does need the AM with him too but cannot see Howe ditching the flat midfield 3.
