number9shirt
Well, we ain't going to be 8th this season. 8th from bottom Doubt it. Maybe 8 points. Yeah you're right, got carried away with all the hype

Dave
Well, we ain't going to be 8th this season. Presumably facetious but we're already six points and seven goals worse off than Swansea who beat us comfortably. Nobody has scored fewer goals than us and our star striker (with no goals so far) is missing for another two matches yet. Not a good start.

Hanshithispantz
Fucking hell. Some of you guys need to get off whatever you drink. Do you think he should have been hired in the first place? If not then why do you think he should remain in charge? He's not good enough, he'll never be good enough. I'm not Ashley so I cannot make the decisions but there's no reason I cannot express my opinion on what should obviously happen with my club were we not ran by a spiteful cunt. Unbelievable
Not surprised one bit about how this has unfolded so far, sadly. A difficult start to the season, new players without any Premier League experience to integrate, a rather average manager to oversee operations all adds up to a shaky start of the season and early must win games to even get us out of the bottom 3. Lose to Watford and things could get very tasty very early on for him. Some honeymoon period
Guest ElCid
We're not going to sack McClaren man, jesus h christ. We appointed him to the board, let him pick his coaching staff and signed him some good players. Exactly and that's why we will be bottom of the league after 8 games and playing catch up because you have Ashley running the club - name me one other Premiership team who would have went for McClaren in the Summer after being sacked by a Championship club and your answer will be you can't. He should be nowhere near this club but is - doesn't make it right though. I find it laughable that so many are trying to stick up for him let's see if though people are still saying the same in another few games.

Wullie
For all the "he needs time to fix this mess" spiel, isn't it generally a given that most managers should see a honeymoon period? I just think he's a shit manager doing a shit job, which should come as no surprise to anybody who's paid attention to the bloke's career, with the GLARING exception of Derby County who have been talked up on here as one of the greatest attacking sides ever to grace the game. AY
One up front is just w***. 1, 2 or 3 up front is not the problem. Slow build up play is. Too cautious.

Figures 1-0 Football
Bit harsh to hang SMC out to dry after 5 games. He inherited a team that had win 2 in about 20 games, had spent four years under Pardew with Gouf and Williamson. Spent six months with some form of special hospital escapee in charge with no tactical play, probably playing hop scotch during training and watching DVDs of Sunderland games from 1902 to get PASSHION. The difference in our team actually playing with tactics is evidenced, the players are playing poorly individually and as a team. SMC needs to install some confidence - that will only come with wins. The best way to judge a manager is when things are poor (like this). Saturday will be a turning point, sadly we have two tough games after this - 3-6 points out of the three games would be good and set us on our way for a very winnable run of 10 games. Mole_Toonfan
He better put that unhappiness to good use and start picking the right players then, i'm gonna give him a chance obviously but some of the team selections have been really poor. Minhosa
SMc's Interview from Sky - Didn't do what we've done for the last four games. - Failed to compete, win our duals. - He doesn't know why it was. The journey? The ten minute warm up? - Wake up call that you have to be 100% - Credit to WHU. - We didn't match them. - Big reaction needed on Saturday. - Journey not the best preparation. - First four games, what we've been doing, we didn't do tonight and we need to get back to that. - Lack of cutting edge a big problem. - Final ball/final cross was not of quality of WHU, thats why we lost. - All about the training pitch now. - We need a reaction now for Saturday. - Not just from the players but also from the staff and the fans (?!?). - Shot ourselves in the foot with their second goal. - He confirmed that he did see their second goal.
