Which will happen first: * He gets booked * He has a shot * He tells the linesman to f*** off 3, resulting in 1. 2 never in a zillion years..

Guest Phil K
Something truly stinks like a year dead fish about Alan Smith. Why does he keep playing and when he isn't, Newcastle arent as bad (they're just merely awful then) Untouchable ? Yeah - a ****** LEPER
Unbelievable
Any one want to guess what minute he gets booked in . Which will happen first: * He gets booked * He has a shot * He tells the linesman to f*** off 3, resulting in 1. 2 never in a zillion years.. I stand corrected.. He did have a shot on goal, and a good one too. Pity he was his usual self in every other respect..
oldtype
compared to his usual level of play, this was actually a good Alan Smith preformance. Still the absolute depths of shit though.
bulivye
he needs touching with a broken bottle, a cosh or cricket bat!!

sempuki
I dread to think what Viduka must have done to get overlooked for Smith.
The College Dropout
£6 million. He got an assist today and all.
Decky
I never want to see this arsehole play for us again, if he is still here and still starting next season i am giving up football, fucking awful.
tmonkey
£6 million. He got an assist today and all. Zidane would be proud of that assist. On the volley, outside of the right boot, faint sliced layoff into Rooney's path. World class stuff.
Wullie
Fantastic player and a lethal striker. He had a shot today, you know. I make that three for the season. Well worth £6,000,000.
Dave
I can't wait until he gets a run of games up front.
Guest Knightrider
He's now had his run of games up front and he has been nothing short of shocking. I've defended the lad and still think he's an able squad player, but maybe at another club. Not here. He has to go in the summer too.
Zero
I wonder how much we can receive by selling him. 4m at best?
Cronky
There really is a huge gap between what's has been the professionals' view of Smith, and that held by a large number of fans. Both Allardyce and Keegan have clearly liked him, and played him in preference to others, both in midfield and attack. We weren't the only club that wanted Smith, and until recently he was in the England squad. Most of the negative comments about Smith are pretty fierce but not very specific eg he's shit, he's useless. So I'm not quite sure what it is that seems to drive so many people up the wall. He does get very involved, he does take responsibility and consequently he sees a lot of the ball. Inevitably that means he'll make more mistakes than a player who is hiding. Even so, it really has me shaking my head when he put in a good stint yesterday, and still gets slagged.
Dave
What do you constitute as a good shift yesterday?
Cronky
What do you constitute as a good shift yesterday? I can't give you detail. Generally, I thought he did well as a target man. He won a fair few balls, linked with the midfield, worked hard, made himself available.
Rob W
he doesn't score goals, he doesn't make goals and he drops deeper and deeper leaving Owen on his own sure he works hard but he achieves zero - he's also slowing down badly Ameobi would be a btter bet TBH
