bobbydazzla
players be used in their correct positons and lined up like so: 4 defenders playing in defence, 4 midfielders in midfield and 2 strikers playing up front would keep me happy. can't see it happening though. Jamie
Given Beye Taylor Cacapa Charlie Milner Emre Barton Duff Martins Viduka Bench : Harper Roz Butt Geremi Smith
greydos
--------------Given Beye--Taylor--Cacapa--Enrique --------------Faye --------Barton----Emre ---Duff----------------N'Zogbia --------------Viduka The triumverate of Faye Cacapa Taylor is the strongest defensive spine we can put out. Great for heading aerial balls (Faye covers Cacapa's sometimes slight weakness at this) plus Faye's pace, strength and mobility will be an asset. Allows Emre and Barton to roam if necessary, Duff on the right would give emre options on both wings of players who can use their first touch as an asset, not as a challenge to be overcome (milner). Vids scores goals, and his hold up play would allow barton to overtake the ball and run past defences, plus duff and zogs going through off their wings ala classic away day ljungberg
Yorkie
But 4-3-3's cack!
Dragon55544
But 4-3-3's cack! Its not cack when you have the right personnel. Thats 1 of the problems we have, we are playing a system which doesnt suit the players we have.
greydos
But 4-3-3's cack! Correct. 433 is 'kak'! But SA doesn't play 442 unless he has to (i.e. owen's fit) so that's the best team i think he could play against wigan. After all, this is the pre-match thread. If it was a 'what is your best newcastle team at the moment if we had a decent manager with tactical acumen' then i might go: --------------Given Beye--Taylor--Cacapa--Enrique Duff------Faye---Emre---Zogs --------Viduka---Martins/owen Barton coming on for Emre late, depending on how we're doing
greydos
by the way, attempted pedantry is pretty sad YG
Robster
Was a bogey fixture for us last season, have got nothing to suggest we might overturn that bad forunte. You just know Bramble is going to have a blinder and the BBC will push it right to the front of MOTD.

Guest Spark
GK: Given RB: Beye CB: Cacapa CB: Taylor (not a fan but Roz is having a bad time and assuming Big Faye's still out) LB: ENRIQUE RM: Milner CM: Butt CM: Emre LM: Bonnie Prince Charlie CF: Super Vids CF: Martins Bench: Harper, Roz/Taylor/Faye, Barton, Geremi, *sigh* probably Duff. Maybe Smith. Genocide or infantidice? I like this team a lot. Reckon we'd win if we played like that.
Newcastle Fan
Given Beye Taylor Faye (if fit, if not Cacapa) Enrique Milner Barton Emre N'Zogbia Viduka Martins Give Duff another run in from the bench, he just came back from a long injurey and we have no need to rush him into playing 90 mins, same thing goes for Owen if he makes the squad. Golfmag
Sorry to hijack this post but years and years of loyalty to this Board carries no automatic entitlement of starting a thread, so does anyone know if Shearer's still shows away games and specifically the Wigan game tomorrow? Many thanks

It does kinda look like him now that you mention it. But it is, in fact, Heath Ledger (sp?) as the Joker, as stated above.
