thewellander
I would be upset to see any of the following players go, otherwise, I would boot any one out whom I could find a suitable replacement for. Keep: Beye Milner N'Zogbia Enrique Faye Given Emre Harper Edgar (but only because he's Canadian)
stozo
Keep Beye Faye Enrique Cacapa Zoggy Duff Harper Taylor Martins Milner Smith Boot Out Viduka Barton Geremi Ramage Carr Rozenhal Ameobi Butt Owen Emre Given That lot will never all leave in the next 6 months but I believe that is the deadwood. Guest michaelfoster
Keep Beye Faye Given Enrique Cacapa Emre Zoggy Duff Taylor Martins Milner Geremi Rozenhal Krul Edgar Carroll Boot Out Butt (nowt against him either, just gettting on, need to plan for future) Harper (nothing against Harper but we need to start thinking about the future, bring in someone 21-22 who can be backup to Given & challenge Krul for no 1 in future when Shay retires Smith (waste of £6m) Viduka (too old, my 85 year old grandad could out run him) Barton (dont really need to choose as he will be doing time) Ramage (championship at best) Carr (fat & crap) Ameobi (not good enough) Pattison GONE Owen (if a decent offer comes in - maybe £5-6m
Guest Stephen927
Keep: Given Rozehnal Beye Cacapa Martins Owen (depending on fitness during the next 6 months) Harper N'Zogbia Milner Smith Geremi Butt Faye Taylor Boot Out Carr Emre Barton Ameobi Ramage Viduka

Karjala
Strikers Wouldnt be bothered if they all left as long as good replacements came in Midfielders Keep: Milner, N'Zogbia. Again, wouldnt break my heart if any of the others left Defenders Keep: Enrique (so we can see if he can play football), Beye, Faye. Goalkeepers Wouldnt be bothered if Harper or Given left. Keep Krul though The sad thing is I feel our club still needs a complete overhaul. I'm not saying all the players i'd be happy to see go are crap, but we either need a new manager who can do something with them, or some serious upgrades in each department. Teasy
Viduka (too old, my 85 year old grandad could out run him) He's not slow due to age, he's slow due to being a fat bastard.
Mr. Snrub
As long as we keep: Given Beye Faye Rozehnal Enrique Butt N'Zogbia Duff Martins Then sign a new centre back, Arshavin, Diego, Albelda and Huntelaar and win the league.
Chris_R
Keep: Beye - Looked really good so far. Been impressed. Faye - As with Beye. If only he can stay fit... Given - Not the best in the world but he's certainly good enough and would be hard to replace. Enrique - Young and highly rated, not seen enough of him yet but needs a chance at least considering the investment. Cacapa - I still think that despite the Bramble-esque mistakes that there's a quality player in there somewhere. Owen - Tempted to say "Get rid" to free £100k from the wage bill, but he's a quality player and the kind we need. When fit. N'Zogbia - One of only 4 players at the club who can beat a man. Needs to stay. Duff - As above. Looked decent since coming back. Harper - Happy to play second fiddle and perfectly able when called upon. Taylor - Has a future. How far he can go I don't know but he can still improve with the right coaching Martins - As per N'Zogbia. Wasteful in front of goal but composure can be taught. Just need someone to teach him! Milner - As per N'Zogbia Boot Out Emre - We desperately need a creative, high-flair midfielder. Emre is that, but he's not good enough IMO Butt - Need a younger version. Might last another year but we need to start looking around now Smith - tough decision here as I feel he might make it if we played him exclusively up front. But still not convinced he's good enough Viduka - Quality touches but too much lacking from his game (Pace, workrate) Barton - Shown nothing as of yet and will be banged up anyway Geremi - Again, like Smith, perhaps he's suffered as he's not been used correctly. But still I've seen nothing to say "keep him" Ramage - Simply not good enough. Premier League is one league too high for him, he'd flourish in the Championship Carr - Old, fat, slow Rozehnal - Can do a job for us at the moment, but I think we need better if we look long-term Ameobi - No comment needed

Syrette
I'd actually like to stick with the majority of our squad and give them all a chance for once, even if Allardyce ends up getting replaced sooner rather than later. I'm sick of these constant 'overhauls'.

oldtype
I'm sorry, but if we're going to boot out 10 or so players who exactly are we going to be playing football with? I figure we can afford to lose about 4~5 players (Butt, Ramage, Carr, Ameobi for me) and try to replace them. Anything beyond that would force us to rebuild the squad all over again, which would completely screw over any semblance of chemistry we have right now, which kind of totally defeats the purpose of giving Sam time to put together the squad. Newcastle fans always amaze me. Smith, Viduka, Barton, Geremi, and Rozhenal already useless after half a season? Why don't we just sign all our players to rolling contracts from now on and bin them when they're not setting the league alight within a month. Karjala
Most people are agreeing several players need to be shown the door. The worrying thing is: a) several of these are Allardyce signings b) would you trust Allardyce to bring in improved replacements?

The worrying thing is: a) several of these are Allardyce signings b) would you trust Allardyce to bring in improved replacements? No, not really, but i'd rather see him backed now in this window as he needs it. He could bring in 2-3 players and turn things around, and that would be magic, but reality is he really needs help to turn it around, so you either back him and let him finish what he's started, or sack him now before any more damage is done. Personally i'd like to see him backed, but i doubt that will happen, and another 5 months of the shite is unbearable after the last few years, especially with this all starting so promising. Dead man walking; well lets just get it over with, or give him a reprieve.
