I'm starting to wonder if Deschamps could be the man to get our workshy foreign legion playing well again. a number of our problem cases have experience in france or italy and I expect they'd have a lot more respect for DD than for a man like Fat Sam or the Roedent...

not sure what Barton would make of him though.....

Big club, big pressure- Juve is a bigger club than us and the expectation when he took over was massive.

Get the best side ever to be in Serie B promoted. Juve's ground (shit hole) & average home crowds (very low) do not make it pressurised environment to play football in.

Deschamps eh?

Mort wants:

Stylish football- As manager of Marsaille and Juventus he provided good flowing football, assuming he would do that here it's a tick.

Youth side of the club- I haven't a clue about his youth policies but he is french ;)

Language- Not only english but spanish, italian and french too

Big club, big pressure- Juve is a bigger club than us and the expectation when he took over was massive. Took monaco to the champions league final, which means he has experianced managerial pressure as well as big game pressure.

What other positives are there?

He's young and is already moderately successful (medal wise)

He's arogant/ ethical enough to walk out on two massive clubs

He has some knowledge on english football because of his season here

He has european experiance manager wise

He has a varied knowledge on european players (contacts)

Monaco wasn't it?

Aye apologies.

Pressure in terms of expectation is what i was talking about. Juventus will have no doubt wanted him to get them back into their top flight at the first time of asking, that is no mean feat, especially with a point deduction. Fair enough if there was a club to do it with you would pick Juventus but there are a vast amount of managers that would not have done it.

Deschamps - Class.

A masterstroke if Morticia gets this one in the bag.

So they wouldn't have failed the first test after all then?

No they've failed the first test clearly.

This is now the second test.

The first test being replacing a manager with some decorum  and planning and at a time beneficial to the club.

They did the second part, every extra game under Fat Sam was damaging us more.

Baggies miffed cause his fav pensioner ain't taking over or his sudden found love of Redknapp hasn't bourne fruit either.

Where as Parky is sulking because he didn't think we would get a top manager even though he wanted Allardyce over Sven in the Summer. :cheesy:

The day we hired SA I had Sven as my avatar, dear. Good try.

I've been criticising the process we're going through as have many others.

I hate it when the number of users tips the server over. I always think something has happened.

For me are the dark horses and will surprise many under the astute stewardship of Sven who I would have had here if Allardyce wasn't available

Nice try indeed, if you want to carry on this point scoring craic though like you're NE5's fluffer then carry on, otherwise zip it.

Serie B is nowhere near the standard of the Championship. Of couse there was expectation but at few of there away games they had more fans the home teams & there was carnival atmosphere as this game represented Italy most well supported club coming to there town.
