Ronaldo
I agree, but it isn't appalling
Lenny
11 goals a season is average at best for a £10m striker on £70kpw. The fact that no-one else at the club is up to much either doesn't really change that fact. It does to an extent though doesn't it. If he was playing without pressure in a decent team, he would obviously have more goals.

I agree with that to be fair, but I just think it's not really that black and white with his goal scoring record given what's gone on whilst he's been here. Guest SB
Martins > Adebayor Under the right management Anyone can play this game. Unprovable and therefore means f*** all. Jayson > Gemmil Jayson talks a lot of sense when he doesn't mention Owen Well, you too actually
Dokko
Thought Martins was on a relatively low wage compared to others? Keeping him would be great either way. Any player with a good rep and with a chance to desert but stays is a legend in my eyes, they could easily be a dirty rat like Shay Given. But we'll see who's here by the close of the window and start of the season, would like to think Martins will be one of them, can't see it though. Mowen
He got a big wage hike when we got the £13m release clause deleted iirc.
Dokko
He got a big wage hike when we got the £13m release clause deleted iirc. Did that ever happen? I remember talk, just cannot actually remember if being confirmed by the club.
Skirge
He did get a bigger wage didn't he? when he signed the new deal that got rid of the buyout clause.

Thespence
AHHHHHHHHHH THE CLASSIC OWEN V OBA DEBATE IS STILL GOING ON. They are both failures, there lack of goals last year & the golden chances they BOTH missed at key times in key games means they wont be missed & the the two of them are right up as part of the main footballing reasons we have went down. Mr. Snrub
Adebayor is clearly much better than Martins, but he's definitely not one of the best strikers in the world.

Adebayorhouse is not one of the best strikers in the world man. Martins' major fault is his brain, a good manager would surely sort that out
Guest wshmag
a good manager would surely sort that out so why haven't they? if there is a player available, who has the potential to be better than adebayor, why haven't they taken a gamble on him? because he's shit. Dave
I thought Wenger very nearly did gamble on Martins, the summer after he helped destroy them in the Champions League?

At newcastle he's played under Roeder, Allardyce, Keegan, Hughton, Kinnear and Shearer which one of them could of and had long enough to correct the faults in his game? Apparently none of them gave him one on one coaching ffs

Crumpy Gunt
Martins: (In 3 years) 88 games (28 goals) Owen: (In 4 years) 71 games (29 goals) Maybe it's better just getting rid of them both 28 goals in three years is appalling, i honestly believe i could do better myself. 28 goals for Martins isn't bad going considering what a completely thick stupid cunt he actually is. He probably goes through life thinking every day is Saturday.
