any of you lot heard the viduka/keegan training ground bust-up story yet?

I'm paraphrasing but KK stops training and gives it to the duke with both barrells, labeling him a disgrace, that KK expands more energy giving a team talk then VD does in training, that he won't be on the bench for the Utd game, and if he has his way, he'll never wear a newcastle shirt again.

All the time, Viduka is grinning at him, like a man with a 3 year, £80k a week contract in his back pocket.

that fuckers on 80k?

Steven Taylor is miles away from the finished article.  What a s*** game he had today.  He should be credited with assists for both of Ronaldlo's goals.

I thought Barton and Smith were quite poor too but the rest of the team, aside from some occasional poor mistakes, were okay for the most part.

The whole team were shite for most of the game, except Milner and possibly Harper when he came on.

Given, another very poor display, he did nothing right today but Keegan screwed up by playing him.

Beye, looked OK at times but was caught out far too often.

N'Zogbia, had a nap for the first goal but wasn't helped by a static Given who seems to be tied to the goal line.

Taylor, gifted them 2 goals and did a spin that Parker would have been proud of.

Faye, poor in defence but got the goal.

Butt, shit.

Barton, Shit.

Smith, shit.

Milner, the best of a bad bunch.

Owen, tried but didn't deliver, he wasn't given anything by others.

Duff, so slow and runs into areas where we'll get nothing from.

Thank god we didn't buy any players in the window.  :dave:

Cause as everybody and his cat knows it was impossible to find players better than what we have.

"Show me the MONEY" and you'll get quality!!!

I'm glad we didn't do it Chelsea way and invested in youth but they should be given a chance. I'm not talking about these 17 years old guys but the guys who've been playing for the reserves for ages and are doing generally well compared to our so called first-teamers

Games ARE winnable from now. This is no time to become critical, that can wait until after the season. KK knows who is good and who can't be arsed, the close season will be the time fom him and the Owner to get the business done. We need to survive first and foremost. Nothing else matters at this stage. Those moaning can either shut up or stay away. Newcastl United is far more important and we don't need a rebellion or witch-hunt with a dozen games left.

Blackburn, Reading, sunlun and Fulham are no where near the quality of ManU, Arsenal and Villa (in their stride). Liverpool are wobbly, Pompey are struggling at home and West Ham and Brum aren't pulling up trees. If we stay together and believe in KK we will stay up and then move on. This season was a write off in January, only next season in the Premiership matters now. Make SJP a cauldron for the visiting teams from now on, we must.

We actually played well at times and played some decent football. We also tried to take the game to them and created them a few problems. However their class, unity, experience and hunger told in the end and those things were the main differences. It was all too easy for them at times and that's what hurts the most. Not that I expected anything else mind, I knew we were in for another drubbing as we lack quality in vital areas, areas that make it hard for us to keep possession, work the opposition goalkeeper and therefore protect our own back-four.

Exactly. We all know whats right and wrong with the squad so why don't we just give them our full support rather than whinging about it 24/7. We know that next season will be totally different to this one. We've got some winnable/drawable games ahead, lets solidify rather than whine.

Havent read through this thread, but in short my analysis of the match: Started brightly, at least looking like we wanted to win, seemed to play decent going forward but the defence was an absolute joke once again.

Taylor and Faye were like a pair of clowns, and Zoggy was asleep for their first. You cant make mistakes and gift a team like manure chances - we did, 5 times.

Rough scoring:

Given 5

Beye 5

Faye 4

Taylor 3

Zoggy 5

Milner 5

Butt 4

Barton 3

Duff 5

Smith 3

Owen 4

If we didnt already know it, Butt, Smith and Barton are shocking. Duff has no legs, but at least had a couple of decent chances - if he had took his chance at 2-1, it might have changed things, but he didnt.

That parts bollocks mate.  We might be stupid, but offering a lazy fat 32 year old a three year £80,000 a week contract is mind boggling stupidity.  Its a two year contract (one year left now).  Not sure about the money but at the time it was supposed to be anything from £50-60,000.

But this is what we alway say next season but always turns pear shape. tbh, all of us will still support the players 100%. do not mistake moaning and complains as not supporting the lads. no matter how poor they are, we know we will support them once they wear the shirt.

Our best XI:

Given

Beye

Cacapa

Faye

Enrique

Duff

Geremi

Emre

Milner

Owen/Martins

Carroll/Viduka

Young lads and reservists on the bench, give them a chance.

Smith, Butt and Taylor to be frozen in carbonite Han Solo style next to Sir Bobby's new statue as a warning to all those who follow.

Cacapa?? You never, clearly, actually try to watch our ganes properly.

Given 4 - Poor

Beye 4 - Poor. Clearly better going forward than indefence, but WE NEED A DEFENDER!

Faye 4 - Poor, but scored. Caught out pf postion a remarkable number of times.

Taylor 3 - As Faye,but no goals.

Zoggy 4 - Poor. STOP PUTTING HIM AT LEFT BACK! You shoudl have bought one.

Milner 5 - Onlyone fucking trying.

Butt 3 - Shit.

Barton 2 - Shit.

Duff 4 - Poor. A sad, sad shadow of a once decent player.

Smith 2 - Fuck. Off.

Owen 3 - Granted, he has very little opportunity due to the utter wank of his team mates. But come on, we're getting fuck all here.

HA! What they said!!

After about 20 mins on Saturday I was over the moon. We attacked, we had purpose, Milner and Duff were exciting, Milners ball across the face of goal after 15 mins was brilliant, Owen was getting into decent positions. It looked like we could score a couple before half time.  Then ronaldo got the ball on the left and turned beye inside out.  Then Barton lost the ball in midfield - then Faye and Taylor contrived to allow ronaldo to run in a straight line and score... when we scored, I still thought we could get a second and make the last 10 minutes interesting... but then Smith gives rooney the ball and he curls one of the best goals I've seen at St. James for years... Still we were getting into dangerous positions - duff's turn and shot in the box etc.  We really played better than the scorline says.

How many teams that we have left to play have a ronaldo and a Rooney?  *leaves time for reader to answer* Exactly!!  I think we've got a lot to look forward to for the remainder of the season.  We'll get a result against Blackburn. We'll find a bit of form. We've got other teams below us to play at home.  As soon as a few goals go in, it'll be the opposition's heads that will drop with the atmosphere we had in the first 20 mins on saturday behind us.

What we need to do is support whoever wears the black and white shirt - it's all we've got til the end of the season!!  Be it Smith, Barton or Steve Dixon, a bloke they convinced to stand in at left back who was just in Shearer's bar having a pint 10 mins before kick off... Get behind the Lads - it's the only way we'll stay up!!

Other teams may not have a Rooney and a Ronaldo, but they still have players who can punish our many mistakes.

sadly true but against other teams those 5 mistakes would have made 2 goals at best and out endeavour on saturday against a lesser team would have created at least 5 clear cut chances so it evens it up a bit.  albeit, the score more than them mentality doesn't work when they score 5.

The Times ratings:

Given 5 H Beye 5 S Taylor 3 A Faye Y 4 C N’Zogbia Y 4 J Milner 4 J Barton 2 N Butt Y 4 D Duff 5 A Smith 2 M Owen 4

Substitutes S Harper 7 (for Given, 46min), Gérémi (for Milner, 84), A Carroll 4 (for Barton, 61) Not used C Cacapa, S Ameobi

Seems about right to me.
