After three successful seasons at Deportivo La Coruna, the defender's left Spain to join his new club. The transfer was carried out by $ 11 million. Diego Colotte could take its place

Fabricio Coloccini, who in the past three seasons played in Deportivo La Coruna, was transferred to Newcastle in England, you'll pay for his pass eleven million euros plus a bonus of one million by fulfilling objectives.

"It hill an agreement between clubs and only remaining details of the contract," confirmed Marcelo Lombillo, representative of the player, radio statements.

Next Monday Coloccini would be coming to London to close the agreement and conducted medical examination.

The footballer that sounds to replace the former Boca, San Lorenzo, Milan, Alaves, Villarreal and Madrid is the athlete of his compatriot Diego Colotte, a former defender Estudiantes de La Plata currently plays in Atlas of Mexico.

why wait till monday ?

He'll probably do an Enrique. Watch the match from the stands on Sunday, travel back with the team.

Almost everyone from the club is out in Palma so it makes sense.

It seems the operation is something like this:

6 million in cash, 5.5 in one year. Plus 2.5 million depending of several things like:

* Final classification of Newcastle in the league

* If Newcastle would win a title (copa or liga)

And people were complaining about our negotiating team. Well and truly shafted Deportivo there!

Not to mention that looks like two quality signings past the post if this one goes through. The Ashley bashers will be all quiet on the western front tonight methinks.

So will he be the most expensive defender the club has ever signed?

No no no...surely that would have to be Warren Barton. Who cost us the f***ing league. :hmm:

can't decide if you mean that or it's some sort of irony ?

Don't think so, Woody cost 9 mill pounds, Iirc. Don't knwo what the latest exchange rate is but 11million euros if that is right does not equal more than 9 mill punds I would imagine.

Tommorows Times;

Newcastle have finally reached agreement with Deportivo La Coruña over the signing of Fabricio Coloccini, who will become Keegan’s fourth addition of a frustrating close-season. After a long stand-off with the Spanish club, the 26-year-old Argentina international will cost Newcastle €12 million (about £9.5 million), a club-record fee for a defender.

Marcelo Lombilla, Coloccini’s agent, had threatened to report the La Liga club to Fifa over their handling of the transfer, accusing Augusto Lendoiro, the Deportivo president, of demanding more money when a settlement had already been negotiated. “There is an agreement between Deportivo and Newcastle,” Lombilla confirmed to Spanish radio last night.

Coloccini, who joined Deportivo from AC Milan in 2004, has been capped 27 times by his country and will join Jonas Gutiérrez, his compatriot, on Tyneside. Keegan has also signed Danny Guthrie from Liverpool and Sébastien Bassong from Metz, although the manager has described the latter as “one for the future”. The manager still hopes to sign a left back, with Stephen Warnock, of Blackburn Rovers, the subject of two failed bids.

:D :D :D

You're supposed to decide for him and then attack him based on your own presumption and follow it up with lots of exclamation points.

are we going to reach the point where we are comparing business taxes from the respective dates to find out if it was the most expensive ?
