Village Idiot
How much money is he on? And this has been picked up by our press. They are treating it as if he's been arrested, though.
Mick
The stakes are a lot higher here though, his contract is worth a fortune and he's more likely to fight it. I would just wait and see what happens with the case. The stakes make no difference to the outcome of any possible case, the lad who was sacked by Apple was a relative nobody who just posted negative comments of Facebook. Ranger is getting the clubs name dragged through the gutter in the nations press, repeatedly. Every time he is arrested we're plastered all over the papers and on TV. I would think it would be far easier for the club to prove that Ranger was damaging the brand than a nobody from Norwich on social media who was hardly likely to be seen or heard. AyeDubbleYoo
I don't disagree, I just think it's much easier for a multinational corporation to sack a retail staff member.
James
That is not the point though, he is still there using our money to fund his bad behaviour and causing bad headlines for Newcastle United. He gives the team nothing whatsoever. There is no point in having anything to do with him he is bad for the club and by getting rid and trying to cancel his contract it says something good even if we eventually lose out in court. Hanshithispantz
He could have been a decent player in the top league of English football at least if he was just willing to not fuck about like a 13 year old charver, that's all he needed to do. Leazes1986
He's a fucking idiot. Sad thing is I'm convinced he would have developed into a decent Premiership striker if he had a good attitude and dedication, seen enough in that Championship season when he was 17 to see that he had some potential. Big, strong, fast, thats a good start.
Barnes23
Championship player at best, for me. Good physical attributes and not a great deal more.

nufcjmc
when we picked him up following being released from Southampton I thought great we will get him as he is maturing and it will be a bargain signing shame he is still a child now with more money and an easy ride it would appear. Pardew said ages ago he would never play for him again and he worms his way back in only to spit on the club from a great height.

ATB
Every time this has been reported on the news or radio, today, it has started with "Newcastle striker Nile Ranger..." First word. Every time. Pretty much the same for a lot of online reports, too. The association can't be denied. But the guy, regardless of his huge twatness, hasn't been charged yet...let alone convicted. I'll wait and see before I devote more grey matter to hating him Yep, done that too here in Sweden.

Peppe
I missed this part from his Twitter nonsense: "Last thing from me... To all the fans. U are not forced to buy season tickets.. Or pay our wages.. Please remember that..." Just fuck off, you clown.
The College Dropout
He'd sweep up in court if we tried to sack him. san lorenzo could buy out his contract Not really, Gross Misconduct is fairly standardised to include actions in own time that can impact negatively on the club and its image. He hasn't been proven guilty of the rape. Getting arrested on suspicion of a crime isn't a crime.
The College Dropout
Bringing the employer into disrepute is taken to mean the situation whereby conduct by an employee outside of the workplace becomes apparent and due to their employment within a particular job, that conduct becomes associated with that employer. One of the hardest to Gross Misconduct for tbh. This was part of a dissmissal I carried out this week. I added in a few others to be safe and cover my self , Serious Insubordination, Serious incapability at work brought on by alcohol or illegal drugs and General conduct, performance and Attitude. I would stay well clear of sacking someone for suspicion of anything. Apple sacked somebody in Norwich for damaging the Apple brand by saying negative things on Facebook, every time Ranger is mentioned for his run ins with the law we also get mentioned. They could easily sack him if they have a good disciplinary procedure and follow it, they wouldn't even have to wait for a trial as long as they follow procedures and act fairly. I can be sacked for saying negative things about a RIVAL on twitter/FB let alone my company. It's in most people's contracts. Getting arrested for something you haven't been proven guilty of in a court of law isn't gross misconduct. Atm, he hasn't done anything so he can't be sacked. Innocent until proven guilty and all that.
The College Dropout
I think it is a gamble worth taking. If we end up having to pay his contract then we have to. But the money we would lose is money we'd have to spend anyway, and we would have the value of removing a disruptive influence, whilst at the same time giving a positive message about the class of the club and to teach the young players that you can completely f*** up a career. Wrong again. Expensive lawyers. If my employers unfairly sacked me I could look to stand way more in compensation than what I would earn in my contract. If we want shot we would have to pay him the entirety of his contract and simply release him.
Away Toon
The twat really has done enough damage just with the negative publicity for his contract to be cancelled and him given the boot. I expect we are worried he will turn up somewhere else and we would have lost out financially. Imagine what the new players must think of this cunt hanging around the training ground and even worse getting playing time recently.
