STM
Looks like Gonzalez, Atouba and Zayatte to wrap up the deals, if Atouba actually wants to come in the end. But we shall see who Willie McKay will offer us and who our team can pull out of the bag. Is anyone happy signing a Spurs reject and two unknowns (one who has just literally been signed by a club then loaned out)?? I am not. I expect to see the 12m Milner money invested along with a few more million on players saying as we have probably made a net profit from selling/buying players this summer despite our squad being so threadbare. Spurs reject? In the same way that Guthrie was a Liverpool reserve? Come off it. Just because a player isn't one managers cup of tea doesn't mean they will be a "failure" everywhere they play. As for unknown, had you heard of Jonas? I hadn't.

Cant say im over the moon but got to give the unknown players a chance. Knew very little bout Jonas but im delighted we have got him. Realisticly we are not gonna get big names in. Tho if we havnt followed up our early interest in Arda Turan now that Milner has gone its dissapointing

Guthrie was a total different kettle of fish he did well last year for Bolton and actually was RATED by liverpool fans he was never going to get ahead of Gerrard, Alonso or Mascherano though. Jonas yes I had seen on Sky a few times but no I wouldn't have suggested him to sign. I would always look to find diamonds that don't cost much but the fact of the matter is we need players that can make an impact and proven not just those who MIGHT be ok. Parsley
Was Atouba not a staple in a decent Hamburg side who were regularly in the UEFA Cup and Champions' League? He could well have matured a fair bit since his Spurs days and I think it's seriously unfair to judge him on one season in a new and difficult league. Possibly helped but he also feel out with them over refusing to take part in training sessions and going AWOL for an UEFA cup game claiming to be at the African nations. Not someone I want at our club (those actions seem really mature).
Ashley17
Whenever someone is at a hotel one of these days we should fucking drive there and get Skirge to storm the place, that'd settle it
Parsley
Lennon came on for Spurs today, perhaps ruling out a move?
Guest hikickry
Lennon came on for Spurs today, perhaps ruling out a move? not really, milner played against coventry. don't think him playing would stop us if we wanted him.
stozo
Lennon came on for Spurs today, perhaps ruling out a move? Think that was ruled out weeks ago. No chance of Spurs selling at the 11th hour anyway, they have enough problems as it is getting new players in before the deadline and offloading Berbatov. BONTEMPI
So what do we have Zayette coming in for a Defensive midfield position replacing Butt? Atouba for left back and fucking about outside our own box thinking he's a striker And Ignacio Gonzalez who's a playmaker of sorts but totally untested. hmmmmmmm sounds like last minute panic stations to me, or after our main targets have told us to fuck off we are now moving onto plan D Don't you just love this club. hoppaz
If Lennon had Milner's footballing brain he would be a good player as he is quick and direct. unfortunately he doesn't posses a footballing brain and he was so good today he actually ran the ball out of play (without any pressure) once and even left it behind whilst running which was hilarious. I would say no to that one.

My thoughts exactly! If they have sold Milner for 12m and not got anyone BETTER lined up I will be very dissapointed.

NE5
I bet NE5 really hopes we don't sign anyone else so he can come on here and tell us he was proved 'right'. NE5
I bet NE5 really hopes we don't sign anyone else so he can come on here and tell us he was proved 'right'. Would be the highlight of his Summer. That's it in a nutshell. No it isn't, pretty fucking far off even. He's said countless times he would be very disappointed if there were no new signings of the required quality. He wants the best for the club he supports, as we all do. He just expresses his concerns whereas others are willing to have blind faith in Keegan's magic and Ashley's intentions for us to challenge the top 4. I respect both stances, but the realistic part in me says that we have so far failed to strengthen to the extend that we needed to and I seriously doubt that they will be able to complete the transfers on the very last day of the transfer window where they have apparently failed to do so in a number of cases up until this point. stand by for all those who said "I'll judge Ashley after the deadline" to start saying "I'll judge Ashley in January" Nice to see that people still think that shelling out 3 seasons ticket money = hoping for failure. You could't make it up.
