juniatmoko
What's a REALISTIC price for him? £7M? milner is 12m and he slighty better than milner... so 12m is minimum price. although i prefer you offers us players... rather than money which only goes to ashley pocket. UV
"My agents are talking with Tottenham and Aston Villa," he told L'Equipe. "I'm waiting to see what will happen. Unless it was with the club's consent that would be tapping up. So either: 1) Spurs and Villa are tapping up our player in which case we should report them to the FA. 2) We've given him permission to talk to other clubs, so we are trying to offload him in which case I don't see what he's doing wrong. 3) This is all a load of bollocks 2 or 3 IMO

Guest BooBoo
Soon as he's gone the better. If people dont want to play for us then I dont care what your ability is, pack your bags. Trouble is, the little turd will probably find himself in the starting line up on Saturday.
JH
What's a REALISTIC price for him? £7M? 35p, a black and white stripey top and a couple of frog's legs and he's yours.
Taylor Swift
I'll take £5m for him at this point. Of course this is in the hope that the money's reinvested back in the squad. If it ain't, then it doesn't really matter how much he's going for, does it?
Ketsbaia
ideal scenario: 'Arry gives up on Downing, leaving Boro with no money to improve a relegation-threatened team. instead, he goes for his second choice - charlie - and in exchange we get a bit of money to buy a CM, as well as Bale/O' Hara/Huddlestone. Spot on I've had enough of him now, he's too inconsistent for us and a disruptive influence. i wonder how this'll affect his good friend oba..... Honestly though, if like Baggio says, he's available for around the £7million mark then i think it's well worth the gamble. As for player exchange, i doubt Redknapp would allow any players to leave aprt from maybe Gunter (good player), ghaly (good player but it might be better if he leaves) , boateng (shite), and maybe Bentley if you lot add some cash to the N'zogbia deal. Come to think of it, you might be able to get Dos santos of us, as it seems Redknapp dosen't rate him much.

Cronky
A swap deal for Bale would be good business imo. Deffo, but surely Redknapp wouldn't go for it. Bale is class.
TRon
It would be interesting if Villa were one of the buying clubs. That would mean they would have targeted two of our recent wide players, both who have come in for criticism while here. Pompey have also targeted Joey Barton so the only midfielders who have had no interest shown in them are Nicky Butt and Damien Duff. Does this give an indication where our real midfield problems lie? It's not about individuals so much as it is about creating an effective unit. Villa's effective unit obviously doesn't include past it chuggers like Butt or Geremi. They are buying our promising youngsters while we are targeting has-beens like Ferguson.
Colocho
Don't know if this was today, or if it's been posted already but: Newcastle winger Charles N'Zogbia has reiterated his desire to leave the club, admitting Arsenal would be his first-choice destination. N'Zogbia revealed at the end of last year that he was keen to head for the St James' Park exit and the 22-year-old now claims a move to Tottenham or Aston Villa this month is very much in the pipeline. "My agents are talking with Tottenham and Aston Villa," he told L'Equipe. "I'm waiting to see what will happen. "From what they have told me, Arsenal could also be in the frame, but there hasn't been a direct approach from them. "Personally, I have a little preference for the Gunners but, whatever happens, they are three great and ambitious clubs. It's very flattering to see them interested in me. "I've spoken to my bosses at the club. They know what my aims are and what I want to continue to progress. "As soon as a big club knocks on the door with a good offer, I don't think they'll prevent me leaving. "While waiting I'm continuing to train, without letting my head go down because I am above all a professional." N'Zogbia joined Newcastle in 2004, with the Magpies paying a nominal sum to Le Havre for their youth team player. But the former France Under-21 international admits the time has come for a move away from the club in order to attract the attention of Les Bleus coach Raymond Domenech. He continued: "I've been here for four years. It's a club who have allowed me to discover the France youth team, and I thank them for that, but at some point you have to know how to aim higher. "I am 22. It's an age where I have to be seen, especially with regards to aims that I have targeted for myself. "I want to get into the France team as soon as possible and I feel that at Newcastle, that won't be possible. "I'm at a turning point in my career." However, N'Zogbia insists that whatever happens he would love to remain in England, even if Ligue 1 giants Lyon or Paris St Germain come calling. "A return to France is not unforeseeable," he explained. "But personally I have always said that my priority is to remain in England. "It's a league which I take pleasure from and which suits me well. "Anyway, a return to France is not relevant because none of those clubs have contacted me." N'Zogbia admitted that it was partly seeing his friend and compatriot Lassana Diarra secure a move to Real Madrid which pushed him to take a decisive step to clinching his own transfer. "That's exactly the case," he said. "He's a player I've grown up with in football. When I see what he has done that gives me extra desire to set myself new targets, to do everything to have the same recognition. "It's for that reason that I feel it's the right time to leave. In a career, you need titles and yet, at Newcastle, that's not possible. "When I see certain friends playing in the Champions League or others like Lassana or Florent Sinama-Pongolle with the France team, it makes me drool. I say to myself: 'Why not me?"' KD do you really think he was given enough of an opportunity to settle and even show his stuff? I hardly remember him playing a game?! I remember seeing him play for Germany when he was younger, in a youth tourney, and he was an absolute dynamo. He was everywhere. Breaking up play and bombing forward to join attacks. The plan was that he was supposed to become one the best mids in the world, but if you look at what some of his age mates in centre midfield have already accomplished, he is far behind. Even someone like Guthrie is holding down a spot in a Premier League club. Kevin will be 22 in a few months and has barely sniffed first team action. And its the like of Jenas, Huddlestone, and O'Hara that are keeping him out.

He cannot be that much worse than the players you just mentioned. I mean I saw this boy at 18 and he looked like the world would be his. It's amazing to me. I wouldn't mind nicking him off Tottenham tbh as he would bedead cheap due to how thngs have gone for him.

brummie
I can't believe we'd be in for him, for the following reasons. 1. What for? He'd be behind Ashley Young on the left wing. 2. We're supposed to be punting the woeful Shorey off somewhere else, so maybe it is to play him there. But he's not a LB, so what's the point in getting a LW in to play LB when you know he's not really that good there, and doesn't like it? 3. Everything I had ever seen, here or elsewhere, about him tells me that he is a stroppy, mardy arsed cunt. That doesn't strike me as the sort of player MON likes to sign. No truth if you ask me. oldtype
Zog + 5 mil for Bentley seems like a good deal for both sides involved. This summer we would have wet ourselves in pure ecstasy thinking of playing Jonas on the left and Bentley on the right. Other than the fact that Bentley probably thinks he's too good for us, everything about that deal makes sense.
