West Ham v Newcastle

CHARLIE PREDICTS: 1-1

Six weeks ago all the Newcastle fans were turning up in their French berets, moustaches and onions. Now all of a sudden people are accusing the team of being "over-French" and calling for them to get out! One thing you can say about Newcastle is they are never dull and I want them to survive; it's nothing personal against the other teams, but I want them to stay up for their hardcore fans. However, this is a difficult game with old boy Andy Carroll in brilliant form. I don't see Newcastle having much threat going forward, but a bit like Lambert going to Norwich, I see Alan Pardew going back to his old club and sneaking a 1-1 draw.

Lawro

West Ham vs Newcastle

Newcastle have absolutely fallen apart and their season cannot finish quickly enough.

I think they already have enough points to stay up because, as I say above, Wigan have left themselves too much to do, but that does not hide the fact the last few games have been embarrassing for Alan Pardew's side.

Losing at home to Sunderland was massive because it was a derby and everything that entails. But losing to Liverpool was even worse because the Magpies were completely abject, particularly in the first half hour.

Pardew's biggest worry will not be that they got thrashed 6-0, but that they did not put up a fight. It was the same at the end when all the Magpies players seemed to be doing was trying to keep the scoreline down to six. It was a very odd occasion.

Things will not get any easier for Newcastle against West Ham, who will throw absolutely everything at them.

Prediction: 2-0

Does he mean our fans have been saying this? Because i haven't heard anyone say this tbh.

I'm so sick of stuff like this, it's such depressingly predictable bullshit. Every bit of tabloid patter gets associated with the club's fans. Makes you annoyed to be a Newcastle fan at times, because there's no way other fans have to put up with that kind of shit to the same degree.

Newcastle are yet another struggling team who need a win to ease their problems, although even a point could see them safe if Wigan get beaten by Arsenal on Tuesday.

The Magpies' point at West Ham last weekend was a big one, courtesy in many ways of the return of Fabricio Coloccini to their defence, and his authority will make a big difference here too.

I cannot see QPR putting up much resistance. Rangers boss Harry Redknapp is already talking about next season and, even if his players are not thinking about their summer holidays, there are far too many mistakes in that team for them to hold out.

Prediction: 1-2

Mersons prediction.

QPR v Newcastle

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1

If Wigan had beaten Swansea we'd have got two weeks of absolute drama, but now I think Newcastle are a point away from safety. Personally, I don't see QPR losing this game but I think a draw would see Newcastle safe because I can't see Wigan getting anything at the Emirates on Tuesday night. I think Newcastle will get the point they need to survive - but they can't afford to lose this because Wigan could definitely get three points on the final day.

Btw he predicted a 5-0 Man Utd Win against Swansea at the weekend because it Fergusons final home game.

I don't think that's laughable tbh. I can absolutely see that as being a thrashing because of the occasion.

So basically he is saying he thinks this and that without giving any explanation as to why he thinks that? Great preview. As for Lawro, completely writing off QPR, hailing Colo and our defence, but yet still thinks QPR will score.

What's funny? Both of those people are generally shite, but both of those predictions are fine imo.

Merson's preview is a joke, he just states the obvious then makes comments such as QPR not losing but without any explanation as to why he think's they won't lose. Lawro's is just funny how he predicts QPR will score and give us a tight enough game despite Colo strengthening our defence and the entire QPR club being on holiday.

Yeah, it's not that big a deal though.
