Spudil
"Toon Basically Put Tiote Up For Sale For Top Dollar" F365 headline. 1st comment: monkey1986 (Manchester United) says... "Is it just me or does it sound more like he is inviting offers here?". I guess I have a "mentally impared personality" for thinking the same though. Mick
Every time a player performs for us we're sure he's leaving now. Sometimes it will happen, sometimes it won't, I just hate the fatalist posts that crop up so often. Have I missed something or did our MD just name a player who might leave? You can hardly complain about people mentioning the possibility of that happening when it's coming from Llambias.
Guest bimpy474
This was in the same paragraph as Tiote could leave. "But one thing in our favour is that we now have a very good side and that might encourage the player (Tiote) to stay." Just for balance like. colinmk
end of the day its tiotes decision to move or stick. imo he seems happy to stay here. llambias seems pretty logical. ALot of the gay whinningin this thread is from clearly mentally impared personalities. If tiote leaves for 24m+ then happy days. As long as the club gets in a 2 specialist DM....one for lege one for europe/cover. AM not sure that in the summer clubs can affrod 20m+ fees......dont the new regs start on july 1st?? arent chelsea actually bust atmo (held together by russian glueinjections). HOwmany of the big 4 actually have sustainable turnovers? maybe spurs and us ?? AM not an accountant, so i am only guess from the shreads i have heard thus far. Difficult to take onboard the opinion of a man quite clearly pished on two bottles of gin at 3pm in the afternoon.

Dave
www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2012/03/09/derek-llambias-selling-is-part-of-football-we-have-to-get-it-right-72703-30493774/ We’re not saying we are not a selling club. I hope that's a typo.
Dave
Llambias told the Chronicle: “We have to recruit what we can afford and between the manager and the chief scout have done a very good job. “Long may it continue. Those deals take a long time, Papiss was over a year, we don’t knee-jerk. “If we don’t get the player we want in January we’ll go for the No 2 but more often than not the deal is difficult. “So we have to wait for the next one and we start again.” United tracked Cisse from Freiburg for over a year. http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/8854/2acc5a8841f8752904d37f9.png

Dave
Why weren't these posted btw? “Look at Liverpool, Standard Charter give them £17m and Warrior £25m, that’s £42m. Ours is £5m for both and we need to compete against Liverpool. “It’s a different league we live in. OK, they are an international brand, we are a national brand. “Man United have 360million fans we have 3.5million. “Our turnover on retail is £5m a year and we make £100,000-200,000. It’s not where you think it would be. “We are punching way above our weight. Canny pathetic.

thomas
is he criticizing the margins or that no one's buying it? Either way the finger points back at their setup. Improve the brand and marketting and strike better deals with your suppliers.

Taylor Swift
It's his fucking job to improve the commercial side, isn't it? How are Spurs getting 20m a year for their shirt? They're a fucking national brand as well. Our financial results will look good but really our turnover is lower than it should be. A lot of things are going well but our commercial revenue is pathetic.
Interpolic
They only make 100-200 grand profit on merchandise? It's either another massive lie or they're doing a shit job of it. The margin on those shirts must be huge, take into account shop rent and staff and all the other costs and you'd still surely expect a margin better than 2-4%. Fuck me. J7
It's his f***ing job to improve the commercial side, isn't it? How are Spurs getting 20m a year for their shirt? They're a f***ing national brand as well. Our financial results will look good but really our turnover is lower than it should be. A lot of things are going well but our commercial revenue is pathetic. Commercial revenue is way down on what it was when the takeover happened, as is matchday revenue. The TV deal is far higher than it was and our turnover has barely moved. I'm sure there was a quote when the stadium was being renamed from Llambais saying that the club has maximised its commercial revenue from current streams so needed to look for new ways to general money, like stadium renaming. Well that's quite obviously nonsense. I'm not saying they have done a bad job on the financial side of things overall, but we can do far better. Making the stadium look so cheap and tacky and packing the shop full of poor quality tat will hardly help the issue either. Our turnover is lower than Aston Villas. Now that we are breaking even, they really need to build the commercial side of the business, and that doesn't mean by following their current track.
