Sorry, just read at first glance like you believe Ashley didn't - and should have - given him a chance. i dont disagree with ashley's decision (though i didnt like the timing and manner of it, allardyce only found out via SSN) as he wanted his own manager in which is fair enough. as i said, allardyce was a victim of those circumstances which were beyond his control. allardyce needs to put the conditions and infastructure in place to be an effective manager, and that takes time, so its pointless to try and judge him from his short time here. i dont think the crap football philosophy we rightly criticise him for would've changed - going for draws away from home, long ball, big burly players, long throws etc - it just would've gradually gotten more effective as he molded the club to his image. he'll improve blackburn just by not being paul ince, and i also think their players are better suited to his style. long term i think theyll be a decent but boring, long ball side much like bolton were. IMO he was THAT bad. While he was here I had zero confidence of us beating anybody, plus we played a 'style' of Football that was nothing short of painful to watch. He's the only manager ever to make me not look forward to watching the match! Don't agree for a second that he was a victim of anything either, apart from his own ignorance maybe. Watching Rozehnal have most of our chances, the non-displays of Owen and Shola and Martins, and bringing on defenders (Beye and Faye) to try and overturn a defecit. Just utterly baffling.
